Al-Háy 22:42 وان يكذبوك فقد كذبت قبلهم قوم نوح وعاد وثمود ٤٢

وَإِن

يُكَذِّبُوكَ

فَقَدۡ

كَذَّبَتۡ

قَبۡلَهُمۡ

قَوۡمُ

نُوحٖ

وَعَادٞ

وَثَمُودُ

٤٢

And if they deny you, [O Muḥammad] - so, before them, did the people of Noah and ʿAad and Thamūd deny [their prophets],

— Saheeh International

If they deny you ˹O Prophet˺, so did the people of Noah before them, as well as ˹the tribes of˺ ’Ȃd and Thamûd,

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)

Here Allah consoles His Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for the disbelief of those among his people who opposed him.

وَإِن يُكَذِّبُوكَ فَقَدْ كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ

(And if they deny you, so did deny before them the people of Nuh) until His saying,

وَكُذِّبَ مُوسَى
