وَمَا
كَانَ
ٱللَّهُ
لِيُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
وَأَنتَ
فِيهِمۡۚ
وَمَا
كَانَ
ٱللَّهُ
مُعَذِّبَهُمۡ
وَهُمۡ
يَسۡتَغۡفِرُونَ
٣٣
و (لیكن این وقت رسیدن عذاب نیست چون) تا وقتی که تو در میان آنها هستی، الله عذاب دهندۀ آنها نیست، و الله عذاب دهندۀ آنها نیست در حالیکه از الله مغفرت میخواهند.

The Quraysh claimed They can produce Something similar to the Qur'an
Allah describes the disbelief, transgression, rebellion, as well as misguided statements that the pagans of Quraysh used to utter when they heard Allah's Ayat being recited to them,
قَدْ سَمِعْنَا لَوْ نَشَآءُ لَقُلْنَا مِثْلَ هَذَآ
