Al-Isra' 17:54 ربكم اعلم بكم ان يشا يرحمكم او ان يشا يعذبكم وما ارسلناك عليهم وكيلا ٥٤
رَّبُّكُمۡ
أَعۡلَمُ
بِكُمۡۖ
إِن
يَشَأۡ
يَرۡحَمۡكُمۡ
أَوۡ
إِن
يَشَأۡ
يُعَذِّبۡكُمۡۚ
وَمَآ
أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ
عَلَيۡهِمۡ
وَكِيلٗا
٥٤
Votre Seigneur vous connaît parfaitement. S’Il le veut, Il se montrera envers vous Miséricordieux1 et s’Il le veut, Il vous infligera un châtiment rigoureux2. Quant à toi, Nous ne t’avons pas envoyé aux hommes afin de les contraindre à embrasser la foi.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
رَّبُّكُمْ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ
(Your Lord knows you best;) O mankind, meaning, He knows best who among you deserves to be guided and who does not deserve to be guided.
إِن يَشَأْ يَرْحَمْكُمْ
(if He wills, He will have mercy on you,) by helping you to obey Him and turn to Him.
أَوْ إِن يَشَأْ يُعَذِّبْكُمْ
