Al-Baqarah 2:243 ۞ الم تر الى الذين خرجوا من ديارهم وهم الوف حذر الموت فقال لهم الله موتوا ثم احياهم ان الله لذو فضل على الناس ولاكن اكثر الناس لا يشكرون ٢٤٣

۞ أَلَمۡ
تَرَ
إِلَى
ٱلَّذِينَ
خَرَجُواْ
مِن
دِيَٰرِهِمۡ
وَهُمۡ
أُلُوفٌ
حَذَرَ
ٱلۡمَوۡتِ
فَقَالَ
لَهُمُ
ٱللَّهُ
مُوتُواْ
ثُمَّ
أَحۡيَٰهُمۡۚ
إِنَّ
ٱللَّهَ
لَذُو
فَضۡلٍ
عَلَى
ٱلنَّاسِ
وَلَٰكِنَّ
أَكۡثَرَ
ٱلنَّاسِ
لَا
يَشۡكُرُونَ
٢٤٣
N’as-tu pas vu ceux qui sortirent de leur demeures, - il y en avait des milliers, - par crainte de la mort ? Puis Allah leur a dit : "Mourez!" Après quoi Il les rendit à la vie. Certes, Allah est Détenteur de la Faveur, envers les gens; mais la plupart des gens ne sont pas reconnaissants. 1

The Story of the Dead People
Ibn Abu Hatim related that Ibn `Abbas said that these people mentioned herein were the residents of a village called Dawardan. `Ali bin `Asim said that they were from Dawardan, a village several miles away from Wasit (in Iraq).
In his Tafsir, Waki` bin Jarrah said that I
