The Quran prepares believers for this reality: <em>“you will certainly hear many hurtful words”</em> (3:186). Allah acknowledges the pain of rejection in His revelation, dignifies the believers who endure it, and promises them elevation through patience. He acknowledges it, dignifies it, and transforms it into a means of elevation.</p>
<p>When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) stood on Mount Safa calling his people to the truth, he was met not with applause but with insult. When he walked through Ta’if, he was not received with curiosity but with stones. Yet, in every instance, he responded not with bitterness but with beauty: <em>“O Allah, guide my people, for they do not know.”</em> <em>(Bukhari 6929)</em></p>

<p>Many Muslims in the West face moments of hesitation when wearing hijab, growing a beard, or even saying their name out loud. Not to mention, praying in public can feel daunting.
