وَٱضۡرِبۡ
لَهُم
مَّثَلَ
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ
ٱلدُّنۡيَا
كَمَآءٍ
أَنزَلۡنَٰهُ
مِنَ
ٱلسَّمَآءِ
فَٱخۡتَلَطَ
بِهِۦ
نَبَاتُ
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
فَأَصۡبَحَ
هَشِيمٗا
تَذۡرُوهُ
ٱلرِّيَٰحُۗ
وَكَانَ
ٱللَّهُ
عَلَىٰ
كُلِّ
شَيۡءٖ
مُّقۡتَدِرًا
٤٥
(ਹੇ ਨਬੀ!) ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰਿਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੀ ਉਦਹਾਰਨ ਦਿਓ ਕਿ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਮੀਂਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਾਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ੋਂ ਬਰਸਾਇਆ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਉਪਜ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧੀਆ ਹੋਈ, ਫੇਰ ਉਹੀਓ ਉਪਜ ਚੂਰਾ-ਚੂਰਾ (ਭਾਵ ਭੁਸਾ) ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਰਹਿ ਗਈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਵਾਵਾਂ ਉਡਾਈਂ ਫਿਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਅੱਲਾਹ ਹਰੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੁਦਰਤ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ।

The Parable of the Worldly Life
Allah says:
وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم
(And mention) O Muhammad, to the people,
مَثَلُ الْحَيَوةِ الدُّنْيَا
(the parable of the worldly life), its transient nature and how it will eventually cease and come to an end.
كَمَآءٍ أَنزَلْنَاهُ مِنَ السَّمَآءِ فَاخْتَلَطَ بِهِ نَبَاتُ الاٌّ
