مَا قُلْتُ لَهُمْ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرْتَنِى بِهِۦٓ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّكُمْ ۚ وَكُنتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًۭا مَّا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِى كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ ١١٧

“Bề tôi chỉ nói với họ những gì Ngài đã ra lệnh cho bề tôi, (đó là): ‘Các người hãy thờ phượng Allah, Thượng Đế của Ta và Thượng Đế của các người.’ Bề tôi là nhân chứng cho họ trong suốt thời gian bề tôi còn sống bên họ, nhưng sau khi Ngài đưa bề tôi lên cùng với Ngài thì Ngài là Đấng Giám Sát họ và Ngài làm chứng cho tất cả mọi việc.”

What has always intrigued me most about this powerful passage is the question: why does Jesus AS provide such a long response to a question that he knows very well that Allah SWT already knows the answer to? Surely Jesus AS didn't doubt that Allah SWT knew that he was innocent of the claims made against him that he called his followers to his own worship, so couldn't he simply answer with : 'No I did not'?
