To the hypocrite, the Quran is a storm cloud that descends from the sky. Its darkness is the mention of unbelief therein, its thunder is its alarming threats, and its lightning is its clear proofs and evidences to its truth. He plugs his ears to block out the truth’s powerful ring, for he fears that he might be convinced of the it and have to leave his current beliefs, which he considers to be death. In Sūrah An Nuur Allah talks about 2 opposing realities. The believers and the non believers.
I see this being played in the comments sections of social media platforms now; especially to the response of posts on the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
On the one hand the condition of the believer who has found the Light and is illuminated in Light. As opposed to those who are under layers and layers of shadows and darknesses.
This is one of the places in the Book of Allah where two consecutive parables are given to describe a single situation, aiming to provide more explanation by representing different dimensions of the same state.
The parable here does not start by mentioning the subjects of the parable, but instead begins by mentioning "a rainstorm from the sky"—intending to indicate that the parable is for the same subjects as the previous one (The hypocrites), a...Xem tiếp
A rainstorm overall brings goodness, though the darkness in the sky is uncertainty, and the thunder causes fear, while the lightning brings light to the dark sky. The munafiq is in this state with his belief, between the darkness of uncertainty and confusion and doubt, the thunder of fear over their own interests and how Islam might compromise that, along with the fear of having to make sacrifices for the religion, and ocassionally they get the ...Xem tiếp
One of our reflection prompts this week (Week One of Qur'an in a Year) is 'How do we believe in Allah SWT without seeing Him?'
As a recent revert (March 2022) who was coming from a position of near-atheism, I worried greatly for a while about how it would ever be possible to truly believe in God. But little b...Xem tiếp

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
I had read a few translations of the Qur’an several times during my teenage years. I was marvelled by the science of the Qur’an. Yet, I didn’t really contemplate about the Prophets peace be upon them all, the Day of Judgment and death. I believe I had not ‘experienced’ much about life and especially I had not suffered much loss during my youth.

The fruit that a plant bears depends on the seed that we sow. When allah provides us with seeds,we have to nurture and water it in a good fertile soil so that it produces lot and lot of fruits, flowers and seeds.

in the Quran, Allah said in 183 'O you who believe, siyam is prescribed on you as it was prescribed to those before you so that you may become self-restrained. ' The importance of Siyam in Ramadan is clearly expressed in several sayings of the Prophet(S.A.W.).
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
