اقتلوا يوسف او اطرحوه ارضا يخل لكم وجه ابيكم وتكونوا من بعده قوما صالحين ٩
ٱقْتُلُوا۟ يُوسُفَ أَوِ ٱطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًۭا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا صَـٰلِحِينَ ٩

(Một người trong bọn chúng nói): “Hãy giết chết Yusuf hoặc hãy đem nó đi bỏ ở một nơi khác, (có như vậy) các người mới giành được sự yêu thương trọn vẹn của cha, (có như vậy) sau này các người mới hy vọng trở thành những người tốt (trong mắt cha).”

When I read this ayah (12:25), I imagine two people running towards a door. Isn't it interesting that in the same room, one person is running towards sin and another person is running away from it? One is striving to keep the door of escape closed, another is striving to open that door and escape.

In surah Yusuf [12], Allah informs us about the brothers of Yusuf who said:
[اقْتُلُوا يُوسُفَ أَوِ اطْرَحُوهُ أَرْضًا يَخْلُ لَكُمْ وَجْهُ أَبِيكُمْ وَتَكُونُوا مِن بَعْدِهِ قَوْمًا صَالِحِينَ]
Kill Yusuf or cast him out to another land so that your father's favor will be for you alone, and after that you will be righteous people. [9]

The worst of Sin is to start justifying your sins in order to satisfy yourself. It’s actually fooling your oneself because you can never fool Allah with those silly justifications.
