ما قلت لهم الا ما امرتني به ان اعبدوا الله ربي وربكم وكنت عليهم شهيدا ما دمت فيهم فلما توفيتني كنت انت الرقيب عليهم وانت على كل شيء شهيد ١١٧
مَا قُلْتُ لَهُمْ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرْتَنِى بِهِۦٓ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّكُمْ ۚ وَكُنتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًۭا مَّا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِى كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ ١١٧

میں نے ان سے کچھ نہیں کہا مگر وہی کچھ جس کا تو نے مجھے حکم دیا تھا (اور وہ یہی بات تھی) کہ بندگی کرو اللہ کی جو میرا بھی رب ہے اور تمہارا بھی رب ہے اور میں ان پر نگران رہا جب تک ان میں موجودرہا پھر جب تو نے مجھے اٹھا لیا تو (اس کے بعد) تو ہی نگران تھا ان پر اور یقیناً تو ہرچیز پر گواہ ہے

What has always intrigued me most about this powerful passage is the question: why does Jesus AS provide such a long response to a question that he knows very well that Allah SWT already knows the answer to? Surely Jesus AS didn't doubt that Allah SWT knew that he was innocent of the claims made against him that he called his followers to his own worship, so couldn't he simply answer with : 'No I did not'?

Almost every Surah except surah At Tawbah we are reminded of these attributes of Allah SWT. Allah Almighty has chosen to reveal many of His attributes to us, but these two we are reminded about the most.
