I was listening to a talk on parenting today and the speaker suggested saying this dua before speaking to your children. I'm not sure why that has never occurred to me before! In an age where kids prefer to listen to their peers over their parents, what a great tip that has the potential to completely transform the effectiveness of our conversations.

One reflection that I've had is that in making a dua, the main goal of it is actually to strengthen our relationship with Allah in doing so, and the particular thing that we are asking for is secondary.
For indeed, if our relationship with Allah is good, then the ease, help, and the resources that we are asking for in order to handle our situation will automatically come to us through Allah's mercy and in the way that He wills.

I just wanted to conclude my thoughts on sharing reflections connected to my mother الله يرحمها
In the end , the task is very difficult and perhaps one could spend their whole life mourning , so the strength has to come from Allah to be able to move forward.
That’s what I learn from Musa A.S from this dua.

Imagine today if someone sent you to Xi Xinping to call him to the truth. You'd scoff, yeah? Xi Xinping, one of our many tyrant oppressors in this world, who is persecuting millions of muslim uyghurs at varying levels in internment camps, etc. Is doing something very similar to Pharaoh, like taking away the men from families etc.

These verses embody for me a beautiful conversation between Allah (SwT) and Prophet Musa peace be upon him, whereas Allah asks Musa about his stick before asking him to throw it away.
He (SwT) in His majesty, connected with Musa before giving him a command, asking him about his stick and why it matters to him.
And prophet Musa responds as if he is speaking with a close friend (and to Allah belongs the utmost example of perfection).

I find myself saying this everytime I have to talk in public or when I have to talk to someone very important, or even before making a very important dua , before talking to the The Most Important Being. Allah swt.
The expansion of the heart is what Musa A.S asks for first , because if our hearts aren't open to understanding who we are talking to, how can we convey what we feel? , what we want?
