So every Ramadan, and even more so with #Covid19 , I am overwhelmed by the abundance of Ramadan programs, seminars, series, 'gems', fundraisers, reflections, diet programs, exercise programs, dhikr programs, charity programs, advice, and calls to do good. Im really just tired of it. This ayah, for me, cuts through the noise. It's simple : 'Good wipes out the bad' No analysis, no deep tafsir or 10-part course on how to get closer to Allah - no...مزید دیکھیں
It is the greatest tactic of the shaytaan to remind a person of Allah's wrath after a sin, and His Mercy before. It's so easy for a person to avoid doing good deeds because he thinks 'how can I do good when I just committed a sin'
But Allah says otherwise. 'Surely good deeds wipe out bad ones' And the Hadith that comes to mind is The prophet peace be upon him said ' have taqwa of Allah wherever you are , and follow an evil deed with a good on...مزید دیکھیں
Duration of a lifetime is the stretch of moment we born, to the moment we leave this world. Value of a life is what good we accumulate in that stretch of time. But we do lots bad deeds as well, and those are apparently so small that we even don’t notice them. Or sometimes because of our ignorance or biases we don’t accept them as bad deeds. So we rarely regret about those bad deeds and never repent.
Ever since my lipid profile showed high LDL (bad cholesterol), I started adopting a healthier lifestyle cutting down sugar and fried foods, having healthier food, exercising regularly, and following the doctor’s advice on medication to protect my heart. I also did several follow up tests to check whether my LDL levels were improving.
This made me reflect on something deeper.
We often become very concerned about the physical health of our hearts...مزید دیکھیں
This verse establishes a spiritual rhythm that mirrors the natural cycle of the world, suggesting that our "miles apart" distance from peace is bridged through consistent, rhythmic action. By anchoring the day at its boundaries—dawn, dusk, and the onset of night—prayer serves as a protective frame that prevents the chaos of the middle-day from becoming permanent.
The promise that "good deeds wipe out evil deeds" introduces a beautiful law of sp...مزید دیکھیں
The guilt of realising the evil we have done can sametime be overwhelming. One thing that a person should do, definitely, is repent. Like prophet Noah (as) told his people to repent and Allah will shower His blessing. The other act to do is to engage ourselves in good deeds. Ofcourse, there is reward for doing good but this ayah reminds us of something so unique. Good deeds will be an antidote to the poison of evil. In this life, people might ke...مزید دیکھیں
QURANIC MAXIMS DAY 17: 'Good deeds wipe out evil deeds' (11:114)
Subhanallah! Our religion is so beautiful and our Lord is ar Rahmaan ar Raheem. How can we ever be an ingrate to the One who seems to gives many avenues and opportunities for His slaves, us, to be forgiven and to be rewarded? Sometimes it makes me wonder, if He exercises full mercy on Judgment Day, will majority of us be forgiven and led to Jannah ghary hisab? Obviously we are not ...مزید دیکھیں
QURANIC MAXIMS DAY 17: 'Good deeds wipe out evil deeds' (11:114)
This is such a powerful motivation for me. Every time I slip-up, I rush to do good. While my weakness and my desires are crippling, Allah's mercy is vast and all-encompassing.
This phrase give me another chance when I keep repeating the same sin but repentence doesn't have much effect anymore because I keep falling again sooner or later whatever I try to avoid it. So let's try to do more good as fast as I can, hopefully it will erase my sins.
