There was a time when people asked the questions that truly mattered—about where we came from, why we are here, and what will follow after this life. But now, the world hums with endless distractions. Our thoughts are occupied by screens, notifications, and passing conversations, leaving little room to reflect on what lies beyond. The idea of resurrection feels distant, almost forgotten.

News cycles and entertainment pull us into a constant stream of urgency, yet the most urgent reality—the Day of Judgment—barely crosses our minds. We chase moments that slip away, arguing over trivial matters, while the truth that will one day confront us all waits in silence. It is not denial that weighs us down; it’s indifference.

But the Day is not dependent on our attention. It approaches, steady and certain, regardless of whether we think about it.

May we be among those who pause, reflect, and realign our hearts before that day arrives.

Ya Allah, guide us to seek what is true, awaken us from heedlessness, and make our actions a preparation for the moment we return to You. Ameen.

ذكر سبحانه تساؤلهم عن ماذا، وبيَّنه فقال: (عن النبأ العظيم). فأورده سبحانه أولًا على طريقة الاستفهام مبهمًا لتتوجه إليه أذهانهم، وتلتفت إليه أفهامهم، ثم بيَّنه بما يفيد تعظيمه وتفخيمه؛ كأنه قيل: عن أي شيء يتساءلون؟ هل أخبركم به؟ ثم قيل بطريق الجواب: (عن النبأ العظيم). الشوكاني: 5/363.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,

I was having lunch with a friend. My friend is a convert to Islam and we engaged in discussion about her journey to Islam. I enjoy listening to the stories of converts and how they have found Islam, often usually without detailed knowledge of Islam itself. Things just make sense.

My homework is Surah An Naba for my class, so I proceeded to recite. It appeared to me that Surah An Naba is divided into 4 interrelated topics:

1) The debate/rejection of the meeting with Allah - The Day of Resurrection;
2) The such obvious blessings Allah has given to mankind that should be quite obvious to lead to the conclusion that there is a Creator who is most merciful with His Creation;
3) The description of the Day of Judgement and hell awaits those who denied their Lord and thus did not prepare for it; and 
4) Paradise for tbose who believed in their Lord, who were grateful for His blessings and thus follow His commands and also prepared and were assured of the Day of Judgment.

It was ayah 39 which made me pause and reflect:

'That Day is the ‘ultimate’ truth. So let whoever wills take the path leading back to their Lord.' 

I realise that a person’s firmness in faith will fluctuate but how can a person deny all these obvious blessings from Allah? With such blessings there must be a Creator. If there is a Creator there must be a purpose. If there is a purpose there must be some accountability.

This Surah even for those old and new to Islam should revive a person’s faith and love for Allah. It should make our hearts detach from the world and look and prepare for what is to come. 

Furthermore, no matter how far you have been away from the faith a person should ponder upon the blessings of Allah and feel it’s not too late to come back to Him and to prepare for the inevitable - The Day of Judgement.

Abdullah ibn Mas’ud reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, 'Paradise is closer to one of you than the strap of his sandal, and so is the Hellfire.'

Ayat 31-33 I am absolutely disgusted, it says the maidens will have swelling breasts! (78:33) and maidens with swelling breasts23 - of equal age;24. How could anyone follow this and not be disgusted by this, not only you are receiving 72 virgins in Jannah, but they will have swelling breasts absolutely ridiculous, this religion is from a false prophet who got revelations from satan because only a corrupt heart could think of this as paradise, not only the fact the Muhammed ( police be upon him ) has 11 wives youngest being Aisha when he consummated the marriage with a child at 9 years old ( slept with her ) and waged 73 wars slaying the unbelievers wherever he went. Repent and turn to the one and only living God Jesus Christ understand that this cannot be from God and only the devil.

Assalamu Alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
I hope all of you are in good health, and I am also well, Alhamdulillah.
Alhamdulillah, by the grace of Allah, I have completed tadabbur on Surah An-Naba from ayah 1 to 20. Even so, I firmly believe that when I reflect on it again, I will notice new pearls and insights, because the Qur’an is a miracle and it will remain until the Day of Judgment. Therefore, no one can ever claim to have completed its tadabbur fully. SubhanAllah!
I remember that reflecting upon the Qur’an was an intention I had made a long time ago, but I could only practice it occasionally. I was unable to maintain consistency, and this used to trouble me deeply. I also feared that the trait of hypocrisy might develop within me, because it is the hypocrite who breaks promises and fails to fulfill commitments.
However, Allah provided me with a proper platform in my journey of understanding the Qur’an, along with the courage and capacity to complete this journey. As a humble student of knowledge, I wanted to develop a consistent connection with the Qur’an. This desire was so deep that Allah connected me face-to-face with the Qur’an through this Quran Reflection platform. I needed a reason to stay consistent, and Allah fulfilled that need through this platform. Alhamdulillah. From the depths of my heart, I pray that Allah grants blessings to this team, becomes pleased with them, and grants them the honor of seeing Him. Ameen.
The remarkable thing is that Allah has not set any specific criterion stating that only scholars may engage in tadabbur of the Qur’an. This becomes a comforting and hopeful point for all of us. And it is also a reality that the Qur’an mentions us. In other words, the subject of the Qur’an is human beings themselves. SubhanAllah!
Surah Al-Anbiya | Ayah 10
“Indeed, We have sent down to you a Book in which there is your mention. Then will you not use reason?”
Today, when I look back at my reflections, I can only express deep gratitude to Allah for placing such a desire within my heart—one that had remained limited to mere longing for so long.
Now, as I reflect upon ayat 17 to 20, I take a moment of self-accountability and extract a few quick points:
First point:
On the Day of Resurrection, every oppressed person will be given justice, and every effort made will be acknowledged. Therefore, my responsibility is to fulfill my own share of duties, and to expect appreciation and reward only from Allah.
Second point:
The acceptance of deeds depends upon intentions. Hence, I must repeatedly review my intentions, keeping in mind that after death, when we are raised again, deeds will be weighed—and their weight will be according to the sincerity of our intentions.
Third point:
From Allah’s description of the Day of Judgment, it is also evident that this Day will be extremely well-organized. All matters will be settled in an organized manner. This highlights how strongly discipline is emphasized in Islam. Indeed, one of the signs of a successful person is maintaining discipline in life.
