As a security guard, right now I am inside a small outdoor security booth, which is near the entrance of a large car workshop, and it is positioned over here so that I can see what's going on and who is entering and exiting the place.


Right now the gates are closed and I don't really have any work to do for the next 2 hours (aside from just staying alert). So, now I am using this peaceful time to just write a reflection that came to my mind (hehe), and it's connected to the security role that I have.


So sometimes, when it's busy, cars will come and go, and then I go in and out of the booth to write down the car details and then enter them into a computer system as well. There's a standing desk inside the booth, so I stand and do the work (which feels more comfortable to me than being in a sitting position).


In the busy times, when workers walk past the booth, sometimes they look at me and then they say 'Hi' or 'Bye' to me as they are walking by, and then I say the same. But they don't do it all the time, especially when I am standing and facing the computer and looking a little busy. But I am still aware who is coming in and going out through the main gate.


As I am standing and working, I might notice someone coming or going through the corner of my eyes, and then I turn my neck a little bit to just look at them. When they see me in a standing and a busy-looking position, usually they tend to keep walking without saying anything because they know that my attention is more towards the work that I am doing, which is normal and fine.


But other times, when it's not busy anymore, I take a seat and relax a little bit. And when the people who are walking past me see me in that position, that I am sitting calmly and healthily, shoulders down, hands on my knees, facing towards them, and just being more present and aware, their behavior overall becomes a little more gracious, compassionate, and kinder.


For example, they will smile more, they seem to like me more, they will put up their hands as a gesture of greeting or to say goodbye to me, they will nod their heads a little bit (as if I'm doing a good job or something by just sitting), and so on. These nice and positive behaviors don't occur as frequently when they see me standing and looking distracted by other things and not giving them full attention.


In other words, to put it simply, the level of awareness and attention that they perceive in me has an effect on their behavior as they are walking by.


So, I thought about this observation and then I reflected on this as an analogy of something, which is the following:


Allah is the only one who is All-Seeing, All-Aware, and All-Knowing. His Vision and His Knowledge extends over all things. 'And neither drowsiness nor sleep overtakes Him.' (2:255)


If we can truly internalize and always be conscious of that fact, then similarly this should have a positive effect on our behavior and our acts of worship as well, because we know that Allah is always watching us. He is never distracted by anything nor does He get tired.


Remembrance of this should automatically motivate us to do more good; it should help us to be in our prayers with more humility, stillness, and tranquility; it should prevent us from doing things that are sinful or prohibited; it should help us to regulate our thoughts and feelings as well, because Allah also knows what is happening inside of us.


As the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in a hadith, 'Ihsan is to worship Allah as if you can see Him, for although you cannot see Him, He truly sees you' (Sahih Al-Bukhari).

The Eyes! Do they support us in this life? 

يَعْلَمُ خَآئِنَةَ ٱلْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِى ٱلصُّدُورُ

He knows that which deceives the eyes and what the breasts conceal.[40:19]

Ad-Dahhak said: خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ (the fraud of the eyes,) 'A wink and a man saying that he has seen something when he has not seen it, or saying that he has not seen it when he did see it.' Ibn 'Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, said, 'Allah knows when the eye looks at something, whether it wants to commit an act of betrayal or not.' This was also the view of Mujahid and Qatadah.

In any situation, eyes give some sort of signal; the love, the hate, the truth, the lying, the excitement, the happiness, the sadness; talk about any situation and eyes reflect it all. Involuntarily!  

The science proves that pupils dilate when human is under tension or stressful situation. 
 

'The pupils reflect the extent of mental effort in an incredibly precise way,' Kahneman said in an interview with the German news magazine Der Spiegel, adding, 'I have never done any work in which the measurement is so precise.' When he instructed subjects to remember and recite a series of seven digits, their pupils grew steadily as the numbers were presented one-by-one and shrunk steadily as they unloaded the digits from memory. 'Pupil dilation can betray an individual’s decision before it is openly revealed,' concluded a 2010 study led by Wolfgang Einhäuser-Treyer, a neurophysicist at The Philipp University of Marburg in Germany.[scienceline.org]
 

So when our own our body does not support us in this life. How is it going to react on the Day? The Day, when the hearts will reach the throats? 

وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْـَٔازِفَةِ إِذِ ٱلْقُلُوبُ لَدَى ٱلْحَنَاجِرِ كَـٰظِمِينَ ۚ مَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ مِنْ حَمِيمٍ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ يُطَاعُ

And warn them, [O Muḥammad], of the Approaching Day, when hearts are at the throats, filled [with distress]. For the wrongdoers there will be no devoted friend and no intercessor [who is] obeyed. [40:18]

اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتے ہیں:
'وہ جانتا ہے آنکھوں کی خیانت کو، اور وہ سب کچھ بھی جو سینوں میں چھپا ہوا ہے۔'

یہ آیت اپنے اندر بہت گہرا معنی رکھتی ہے۔
انسان بسا اوقات دوسروں سے چھپ کر کچھ کر لیتا ہے،
یا اپنے اندر کوئی بات چھپا لیتا ہے،
لیکن یاد رکھیے اللہ تعالیٰ سے کچھ بھی چھپ نہیں سکتا۔
'خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ'... آنکھوں کی خیانت کیا ہے؟

یہ وہ لمحہ ہے جب انسان کسی ایسی چیز کو دیکھتا ہے جسے دیکھنے کی اجازت نہیں۔
یعنی چوری کی نظر۔
کوئی دیکھ نہیں رہا،
لیکن دل کے اندر ایک احساس ہوتا ہے کہ یہ غلط ہے
پھر بھی انسان دیکھ لیتا ہے۔

یہ وہ 'نظریں چرانا' ہے جو اللہ کے نزدیک خیانت ہے۔
کوئی انسان چاہے دیکھ نہ سکے،
لیکن اللہ تعالیٰ دل کے ارادے اور نگاہ کے زاویے دونوں کو جانتا ہے۔
جب تمہاری نظریں چوری کرتی ہیں  کسی ایسے منظر پر رُک جاتی ہیں جس پر نہیں رکنا چاہیے۔
وہ لمحہ جب تم کسی کو یوں دیکھتے ہو کہ کوئی نہ دیکھ لے…
اور تم مطمئن ہوتے ہو کہ کسی نے نہیں دیکھا۔
لیکن تم بھول جاتے ہو  وہ دیکھ رہا ہے۔
وہ جانتا ہے کہ تمہاری آنکھ کب کہاں ٹھہری، کب جھکی، کب لالچ سے چمکی، کب ندامت سے نم ہوئی۔
تمہاری آنکھوں کی زبان بھی اُس کے لیے خاموش نہیں۔
کتنی عجیب بات ہے
ہم انسان آنکھوں کو سب سے معصوم عضو سمجھتے ہیں، مگر قرآن کہتا ہے کہ وہ بھی خیانت کر سکتی ہیں۔
وہ ایک پل کی خیانت 
جب کوئی مرد کسی عورت کو چپکے سے دیکھتا ہے، یا کوئی عورت کسی ایسے منظر پر رک جاتی ہے جہاں نظر نہیں جانی چاہیے 
وہ پل، زمین پر تو گزر جاتا ہے،
لیکن اللہ کے ہاں ریکارڈ ہو جاتا ہے 
اللہ فرماتے ہیں:
'میں جانتا ہوں تمہارے دل کیا چھپاتے ہیں۔'
یعنی یہ صرف نگاہ کی خیانت نہیں، بلکہ نیت کی بھی۔
کبھی تم نے کسی کی آنکھوں میں محبت کا جھوٹ لکھا؟
کبھی تم نے مسکراہٹ میں نفرت چھپائی؟
کبھی تم نے وہ دیکھا جو تمہیں نہیں دیکھنا چاہیے تھا؟
'وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ'۔۔۔ اور جو سینے چھپاتے ہیں

یہ دلوں کے راز ہیں،
انسان کے ارادے، نیتیں، حسد، محبت، نفرت، خوف 
سب کچھ اللہ کے علم میں ہے۔
ہم زبان سے کچھ کہیں،
چہرے پر کچھ ظاہر کریں،
لیکن اندر کیا ہے  وہ صرف اللہ جانتے ہیں۔

یہ احساس اگر دل میں پیدا ہو جائے
کہ میرا رب میری ہر نگاہ، ہر نیت، ہر ارادے سے باخبر ہے،
تو انسان کے عمل میں اخلاص آتا ہے۔
پھر وہ دکھاوے کے لیے نیکی نہیں کرتا،
بلکہ اللہ کی رضا کے لیے کرتا ہے۔
اس آیت میں تربیتِ تقویٰ ہے۔
یعنی یہ احساس پیدا کرنا کہ اللہ ہر وقت دیکھ رہا ہے۔
جب انسان کو یقین ہو کہ اللہ نگاہوں کی خیانت کو بھی جانتا ہے،
تو وہ اپنی نظر، دل اور نیت، تینوں کو پاک رکھنے کی کوشش کرتا ہے۔

یہ آیت ہمیں یاد دلاتی ہے کہ
اللہ تعالیٰ کا علم اتنا کامل ہے کہ
وہ نہ صرف ظاہر کو، بلکہ دل کے چھپے خیالات اور آنکھوں کے اشاروں تک کو جانتا ہے۔
اسی لیے حقیقی ایمان یہ ہے کہ انسان ظاہر و باطن دونوں میں اللہ کے خوف اور محبت کے ساتھ جئے۔
نگاہوں کی حفاظت کی دعا کثرت سے پڑھیں۔
اللّٰهم غضّ بصري واحفظ فرجي

(اے اللہ! میری نگاہ کو نیچی رکھ اور میری پاکدامنی کی حفاظت فرما۔)

دل کی نیت درست رکھیں نیکی صرف اللہ کے لیے کریں۔

خود کو یاد دلاتے رہیں: 'اللہ دیکھ رہے ہیں۔'

اے اللہ!
ہماری آنکھوں کو خیانت سے بچا لیجیے،
ان کو اتنی شرم عطا کیجیے کہ وہ صرف اُن مناظر پر ٹکیں جو آپ کو پسند ہیں،
اور اُن سے جھک جائیں جنہیں آپ ناپسند فرماتے ہیں۔
آمین۔

Jazaak Allah khair 
اللّہ پاک آپ کے تدبر قرآن میں مزید برکت عطا فرمائے ۔ 

یَعۡلَمُ خَآئِنَۃَ الۡاَعۡیُنِ وَ مَا تُخۡفِی الصُّدُوۡرُ 
'وہ جانتا ہے آنکھوں کی خیانت کو بھی اور جو سینوں میں چھپا ہے اسکو بھی'
اللہ تعالی آپکا ہر راز جانتا ہے جو بھی دل میں چھپا ہے وہ چاہے کسی کیلئے نفرت ہو، حسد ہو یا کوئی گہرا راز جسکے افشاں ہونے سے آپ ڈرتے ہوں وہ اللّٰہ اسکو بھی جانتا ہے آپ دنیا سے تو چھپا سکتے ہیں مگر اس رب سے نہیں، وہ تو نگاہوں کی خیانت تک کو جانتا ہے جو نظر نامحرم کی طرف اٹھتی ہے اور آنکھیں جو غلط چیز دیکھتی ہیں چاہے وہ کسی کی طرف اٹھنے والی بری نظر ہو یا کوئی فحش ویڈیو، اللہ تعالی آپکی ہر نظر اور دل کی ہر بات کو جانتا ہے۔ اس لیے کچھ بھی غلط کرنے سے پہلے یہ سوچ لیں کہ دنیا کی نظر سے تو بچ سکتے ہیں لیکن اللّٰہ سے نہیں۔

💔💔 Allah hum sabko maaf kare aur gunahon se bachne ki taufeeq dein ❤️✨

‏ يقول الله جل جلاله في سورة الانفال الاية ٢٤
يا أَيُّهَا الَّذينَ آمَنُوا استَجيبوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسولِ إِذا دَعاكُم لما يُحييكُم وَاعلَموا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحولُ بَينَ المَرءِ وَقَلبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيهِ تُحشَرونَ

English (Saheeh):
(24) O you who have believed, respond to Allāh and to the Messenger when he calls you to that which gives you life. And know that Allāh intervenes between a man and his heart and that to Him you will be gathered.
[Al-anfãl 24]
ويقول سبحانه في سورة غافر الاية ١٩ 
يَعلَمُ خائِنَةَ الأَعيُنِ وَما تُخفِي الصُّدور

English (Saheeh):
(19) He knows that which deceives the eyes and what the breasts conceal.
 [Ghāfir: 19]

These two verses carry a profound impact on the heart. What you consider to be something hidden from everyone, a secret between you and yourself, is in reality not just between you and yourself, but between you and Allah. What you conceal within your heart, thinking that no one will ever know, you must reckon with the fact that Allah is indeed fully aware of it, He knows it and sees it, and you will be held accountable for it ..
‏Deeds originate from the heart, and being cognizant of Allah's oversight and awareness is the first step towards building true God-consciousness and piety
‏Most calamities and evils arise from a lack of awareness of Allah's constant supervision over us. We tend to think that we are forgotten, when in reality we are fully exposed before the All-Knowing, All-Wise

Your reflection on the concept of Allah's knowledge of our hidden thoughts and intentions is remarkable. Chapter 40 : Ghafir, Verse: 19
Allah ˹even˺ knows the sly glances of the eyes and whatever the hearts conceal. (19)

One quick and effective way to internalise lessons from this ayah on daily basis is an activity that I started to do yesterday and I am hoping to turn it into a consistent habit insha Allah: 

Just before you close your eyes each night for sleep, ask yourself: 

What's inside my heart? 
What's on my mind? 
What's troubling me? 
Did something happen on that day that bothered you and has been weighing on your mind all day? 
Perhaps something a co-worker or a friend or just a random person did or said? 

Once you identify that thought or feeling, talk to Allah and explain what you are feeling or thinking in a few words. Ask for His help and for giving you patience. 

Now here comes the hard part: actively engage in the act of forgiveness for whoever has wronged you or annoyed you that day. Even if you don't want to do it because you think that they don't deserve your forgiveness or because you are hurt, forgive and overlook and implore to Allah that He forgives you too. Remind yourself of the ayah where Allah SWT asks us to forgive and overlook. 

This process can be sometimes painful and hard for many especially if you struggle with forgiveness but it can be truly liberating and calming. Through forgiving others and overlooking their mistakes, we regain the power to redirect our thoughts and feelings towards doing what's meaningful and pleasing to Allah. 

If what's weighing on our mind is not related to what somebody said or did, it helps to think of the bigger picture, of the Hereafter, of things or people you are grateful for because that can put what you are going through in perspective and often tells you what you need to do next whether it's repenting to Allah for a sin and correcting a behaviour or beginning a new habit. 

By reflecting on what's inside our hearts, re-aligning our actions with our values, and forgiving others on a daily basis just before we sleep, we lift the shackles of negativity from our lives and pave the way for a more positive tomorrow insha Allah.

Masha'Allah, a great and an important reminder on the act of forgiving others. I also like the advice on practicing forgiveness every night before going to sleep. I heard that the Salaf (righteous predecessors) used to do that. Jazakallahu khair brother for sharing this.

يخبر -عز وجل- عن علمه التام المحيط بجميع الأشياء: جليلها وحقيرها، صغيرها وكبيرها، دقيقها ولطيفها؛ ليحذر الناس علمه فيهم، فيستحيوا من الله تعالى حق الحياء، ويتقوه حق تقواه، ويراقبوه مراقبة من يعلم أنه يراه. ابن كثير:4/77.
السؤال: ما الفائدة العملية التي يخرج بها المسلم من هذه الآية؟

قال ابن عباس -رضي الله عنهما-: "هو الرجل يكون جالسًا مع القوم، فتمر المرأة فيسارقهم النظر إليها". وعنه: "هو الرجل ينظر إلى المرأة، فإذا نظر إليه أصحابه غض بصره، فإذا رأى منهم غفلة تدسس بالنظر، فإذا نظر إليه أصحابه غض بصره، وقد علم الله -عز وجل- منه أنه يود لو نظر إلى عورتها"... قال ابن عباس: "(وما تخفي الصدور) أي: هل يزني بها لو خلا بها، أو لا؟". القرطبي:18/343.

Imagine your daughter is slandered of the worst of crimes imaginable and rumours spread all across the community. You then find out one of the major protagonists is your close relative who you have been financially providing for, for many years. Can you even begin to imagine the pain and enraged anger you would feel? 

This is what Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) faced. He understandably swore an oath to stop spending on Mistah, due to his joining in the slander against Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Allah then revealed this verse which included: 

'let them forgive and overlook, do you not wish that Allah should forgive you? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.'

SubhanAllah! This type of beautiful tarbiyah is the foundation to the sahaba then going onto build the most illustrious and thriving civilisation human kind has seen. 

May Allah make us of those to whom forgiving and overlooking others mistakes come easy. May Allah make us of those who quickly focus on reflecting on our own mistakes when faced with others' mistakes. May Allah forgive our mistakes and sins, and wipe them clean from our books.
