Abandonar-vos-ei, então, com tudo quanto adorais, em vez de Deus. Só invocarei o meu Senhor; espero, com ainvocação de meu Senhor, não ser desventurado.

قوله تعالى : وأعتزلكم العزلة المفارقة وقد تقدم في ( الكهف ) بيانها . قوله : عسى ألا أكون بدعاء ربي شقيا قيل : أراد بهذا الدعاء أن يهب الله تعالى له أهلا وولدا يتقوى بهم ، حتى لا يستوحش بالاعتزال عن قومه . ولهذا قال :
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
