Asalam O Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh, 
'Greetings with peace and blessings' 

In the serenity of a believer's heart, there lies a profound connection with Allah. It is in this closeness that one truly feels the acceptance of prayers, a realization that echoes through the depths of the soul. This intimacy is not attained by mere chance, but through piety, reverence, and a sincere yearning for the Divine.

Imagine, if you will, the scene of a humble servant, his heart pulsating with anticipation, his lips quivering in supplication, beseeching his Lord for forgiveness. And in that sacred moment, as the burdens of sin weigh heavy upon him, suddenly, a wave of tranquility washes over his being, and he knows, with certainty, that his prayer has been heard and accepted by the Most Merciful.

Yet, the path to such spiritual heights is fraught with pitfalls, for man, in his frailty, is prone to error. The whispers of Shaytan lead him astray, and in his heedlessness, he commits sins, both knowingly and unknowingly. And as the ink of transgressions stains his soul, it is no wonder that despair grips his heart, leading him down a path of anxiety and desolation, a journey that ultimately culminates in the embrace of death.

But fear not, for Allah, in His infinite wisdom and mercy, has bestowed upon us a beacon of guidance—the Qur'an. It is within its verses that we find solace, direction, and the promise of redemption. As Muslims, and as conscientious citizens of this world, it is incumbent upon us to strive for personal rectitude and societal reform, so that our bond with Allah may flourish, and we may reap the bounties of both this life and the Hereafter.

Let us, therefore, commit ourselves to the pursuit of goodness, to the cultivation of virtue, and to the realization of our highest potential, so that we may stand before our Creator with hearts purified and souls ablaze with His love. For in the end, it is not the magnitude of our sins that defines us, but the sincerity of our repentance and the steadfastness of our faith. And in the words of the Qur'an (28:16 Surah Al-Qasas), 'He pleaded, 'My Lord! I have definitely wronged my soul, so forgive me.' So He forgave him, ˹for˺ He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

HE الله عزوجل says towards the end of 2:222 'Surely الله loves those who always turn to Him in repentance and those who purify themselves.'

HE الله عزوجل is affectionate towards those people who sincerely repent. The word توبة itself means 'to return', but in the context of Islamic terminology it means 'return back to الله عزوجل'. We all sin and make mistakes - this is our human nature but الله عزوجل in his mercy even asked نبي صلى الله عليه وسلم to ask forgiveness for himself. We are not infallible - this is demonstrated by the نبيون رضي الله عنهم who committed actions that needed to be forgiven. What about us? This should make us reflect and think about our errors.

We need to be consciously aware of our mistakes, and we should keep a track of our actions to remind ourselves that we have sinned. This leads to a pathway of immediate repetence which will make us amongst those who constantly repent - as a result, الله عزوجل will surely ان شاء الله bless us with HIS affection and forgiveness.

It is important to understand that when الله عزوجل loves us - we have truly been blessed. Moreover, how should we, then, turn to الله عزوجل؟

1. Feel it within your core

2. Ask الله عزوجل for sincere forgiveness

3. We should feel pain and be remorseful for our actions. Make dua يا الله please give us the strength to not remain in a perpetual state of sin.

Also, يا الله make us amongst those people who are in a constant state of توبة and يا الله love us because of this reason. (These notes are taken from Dr. Haifaa Younis's Ramadan series).

May الله عزوجل guide us to act upon the امين. قران 


# Love, learn and live the قران

He didn’t say I wronged this or that but he said 'I wronged my soul'. When we do wrong or injustice, it’s first directed to us and our souls before anyone else. We may say it’s an act of self-love to be righteous! Subhana Allah, but since we all make mistakes as human beings, it’s better to be proactive and do something about it when it happens 'ask for forgiveness'. We should ask for forgiveness while in a positive mode and shift from focusing on ourselves (we’re sinners or bad ..) to focusing on Allah’s great traits i.e. He is All Merciful and Forgiving. In the Aya, once he asked for forgiveness, he was granted one immediately and that’s because of Allah’s Mercy. #MASRQT

Considering the political situation of Egypt at that time, I visualise myself in the place of Musa (AS), who killed a men from qibtiyun accidentally to help an oppressed. He immediately identified his mistake and repent saying 'I have wronged my soul, forgive me'...

What would I do at that situation...
I would not admit there is any mistake at all
I would say I didn’t intend to kill him
I would say all fault are in this political situation 
I wanted to help the oppressed 

But see what Musa did
He identified that he messed up 
He pinpoint his mistake of being hasty 
He didn’t delay repent 

Why it’s hard for us to acknowledge our own mistakes

Sometimes we twist reality so that it looks like we didn't make a mistake at all.
This is known as choice-supportive bias, or a tendency to retroactively create positive attributes to a choice you've already made. 

Sometimes we have the clarity and courage to realize our mistakes and own up to them but we don't learn anything because we don't know why.

If we don’t see our mistake our mistakes left unlearned and we may repeat it.

How to fix it
1. Know yourself , know your biases
2. See your actions with the glasses of Quran 
3. Watch yourself the way you watch a problem, for example math problem or riddles 
4. Analyse the situation as if you are analysing a situation of your friend
5. Backtrack, make a list of things that could happen 
6. Once you know what is your mistake, repent.

Ep4 - Story of Prophet Musa & Life Design: Sins, Setbacks, and Second Chances
 
This episode is really important for Quran-inspired life design.
Mistakes are part of our journey on this earth, We will never be sin-free, otherwise we would be competing with the angels on their level, not ours.

Allah forgives all sins, as long as we turn to Him with repentence Every Single Time.
But we need to forgive ourselves, and detach ourselves from the spiritual and emotional and social consequences that come with a sinful lifestyle.
This is not an invitation to normalize sin, God-forbid! we still need to struggle to purify ourselves and keep working on fighting environments and reasons that lead us to disobey Allah SWT

Something between the lines here is that how did Musa A.S know that Allah forgave him? 

This is before Prophethood,  maybe Musa A.S knew that just because Allah had granted him the ability to seek forgiveness that Allah intended forgiveness for him. It's similar to the story of Adam A.S. when Allah taught Adam the words to seek forgiveness, and then forgave him. 

Again the constant question is how much does Allah love his slaves that He allows them to seek forgiveness and then it is He who forgives them. 

Another thing is after Tawbah , being grateful and pledging to Allah to never commit such a deed again. 

This experience softened Musa A.S , maybe this experience of him realizing that he could abuse the strength Allah gave him so easily by ending a person in a single punch. That he needs to keep control and be patient. This patience was very much needed when he would deal with the children of Israel. 

Alhamdulillah for the story of Musa A.S and all the duas that we learn from them.

القرآن - سورۃ نمبر 28 القصص
آیت نمبر 17

أَعُوذُ بِاللّٰهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَىَّ فَلَنۡ اَكُوۡنَ ظَهِيۡرًا لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِيۡنَ‏ ۞

ترجمہ:
موسیٰؑ نے عہد کیا کہ 'اے میرے ربّ، یہ احسان جو تُو نے مجھ پر کیا ہے اِس کے بعد اب میں کبھی مجرموں کا مددگار نہ بنوں گا۔'
آج حضرت موسیٰ علیہ کے بارے میں کچھ آیات نظر سے گزری۔ ﷲتعالیٰ نے حضرت موسیٰ علیہ کو کلام کیلیے چنا تھا۔ میں سوچ رہی تھی کہ ایسی کونسی خوبی تھی ان میں کہ ﷲ نے انھیں یہ شرف بخشا۔ پھر مجھے میرے سوال کا جواب ان آیات میں مل گیا۔ 
اس میں ذکر ہے کہ حضرت موسیٰ علیہ سے ایک قتل ہو گیا تو انھوں نے ﷲ سے دعا کی کہ:

قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّىۡ ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِىۡ فَاغۡفِرۡ لِىۡ فَغَفَرَ لَهٗ‌ؕ اِنَّهٗ هُوَ الۡغَفُوۡرُ الرَّحِيۡمُ‏ ۞

ترجمہ:
پھر وہ کہنے لگا'اے میرے ربّ، میں نے اپنے نفس پر ظلم کر ڈالا، میری مغفرت فرما دے۔'  چنانچہ اللہ نے اُس کی مغفرت فرما دی، وہ غفورٌ رحیم ہے۔

اس کے بعد موسیٰ علیہ پھر ﷲ سے عہد کرتے ہیں کہ وہ کبھی مجرموں کے مددگار نہیں بنیں گے۔ پھر اگلے دن وہی واقع پیش آتا اور جس آدمی کی وجہ سے قتل ہوا تھا وہی راز فاش کر دیتا ہے۔ پھر موسیٰ علیہ شہر چھوڑ کر چلے جاتے ہیں اور ﷲ سے دعا کرتے ہیں کہ:

'یہ خبر سنتے ہی موسیٰؑ ڈرتا اور سہمتا نکل کھڑا ہوا اور اس نے دعا کی کہ 'اے میرے رب، مجھے ظالموں سے بچا'  

اس کے بعد وہ مدین پہنچتے ہیں اور وہاں دعا کرتے کہ:
القرآن - سورۃ نمبر 28 القصص
آیت نمبر 22
(مصر سے نکل کر)جب موسیٰؑ نے مَدیَن کا رُخ کیا تو اُس نے کہا'اُمید ہے کہ میرا ربّ مجھے ٹھیک راستے پر ڈال دے گا۔'

پھر وہ حضرت شعیب علیہ کے جانوروں کو پانی پلاتے ہیں اور دعا کرتے ہیں:
 'پروردگار، جو خیر بھی تو مجھ پر نازل کر دے میں اس کا محتاج ہوں'
اس کے نتیجے میں ﷲ ان کو نوکری، گھر، بیوی عطا کرتا ہے۔ 
ان سب واقعات پر غور کریں تو ایک چیز آپ کو سب میں ملے گی اور وہ ہے موسیٰ علیہ کو ﷲ سے بات کرنا۔ انھوں نے ہر لمحے ﷲ کو یاد رکھا، ہر مشکل میں اسی سے مدد مانگی۔ کسی انسان کے پاس نہیں گئے کہ وہ بچا لے۔ آپ علیہ صرف ﷲ سے بات کرتے، ظالموں سےبچاؤ کیلئے بھی ﷲ سے کہا، راستہ کی رہنمائی کا بھی اسی سے کہا، خیر بھی اسی سے مانگی، عہد بھی اسی سے کیا۔ غرض یہ کہ وہ اپنے رب کو نہیں بھولے۔ 
اس سے ہمیں یہ سبق، ملتا پے کہ ہمیں ہر چھوٹی سے چھوٹی بات بھی ﷲ سے شئر کرنی چاہیے۔ مدد اسی سے مانگنی چاہیے۔ ہم اگر اسے ہر پل یاد کریں گے تو ہمیں کسی انسان کی سفارش کی ضرورت نہیں پڑتی ہے۔

Mashallah ❤️ Allahumma barik, such a beautiful reflection. May Allah make us among those who always remember Allah and talk to him about our every little affairs Ameen 🤲

Musa is often described as having wisdom and knowledge and wisdom and strength. Knowledge is content of thought. Wisdom is knowing when and how to best exercise it. Some scholars say it is also a reference to the age of prophethood, which is 40. A neurological fun fact is 40 is when the brain typically reaches its maximum before beginning to lose mass.
In this situation, Musa AS jumped to conclusions because of his love for justice and this conclusion led to the death of the person. We see a similar situation between Musa and al-Khidhr in surat kahf.

This is a reminder to us that things are not always what it seems. 
Note the repentance of Musa. It is very similar to the repentance of Adam. This is the sunnah of repentance. 
The story goes that the same one whom Musa defended called out for Musa's help again with malintent. Musa called out his transgression and the man exposed what had happened the day before. And that people will bite the hand that feeds them.
Scholars say that this was what exposed Musa leading to the news getting to the guards and eventually looking for him. He left to Madyan for safety, the land of prophet Shuayb. Scholars say he had left either with no money/preparations and/or not knowing how to get there and hoping Allah would lead him toward the correct path. This reminds me of the experience of Abu Bakr and Muhammad SAW leaving the ghar thawr with hope in Allah's protection while Quraiysh planned to kill the prophet SAW.
