مَا قُلْتُ لَهُمْ إِلَّا مَآ أَمَرْتَنِى بِهِۦٓ أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبَّكُمْ ۚ وَكُنتُ عَلَيْهِمْ شَهِيدًۭا مَّا دُمْتُ فِيهِمْ ۖ فَلَمَّا تَوَفَّيْتَنِى كُنتَ أَنتَ ٱلرَّقِيبَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ وَأَنتَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ شَهِيدٌ ١١٧

"Aku tidak mengatakan kepada mereka melainkan apa yang Engkau perintahkan kepadaku mengatakannya, iaitu: `Sembahlah kamu akan Allah, Tuhanku dan Tuhan kamu ' dan adalah aku menjadi pengawas terhadap mereka (dengan membenarkan yang benar dan menyalahkan yang salah) selama aku berada dalam kalangan mereka; kemudian apabila Engkau sempurnakan tempohku, menjadilah Engkau sendiri yang mengawasi keadaan mereka, dan Engkau jualah yang menjadi Saksi atas tiap-tiap sesuatu.

What has always intrigued me most about this powerful passage is the question: why does Jesus AS provide such a long response to a question that he knows very well that Allah SWT already knows the answer to? Surely Jesus AS didn't doubt that Allah SWT knew that he was innocent of the claims made against him that he called his followers to his own worship, so couldn't he simply answer with : 'No I did not'?

Almost every Surah except surah At Tawbah we are reminded of these attributes of Allah SWT. Allah Almighty has chosen to reveal many of His attributes to us, but these two we are reminded about the most.
