[Gli ordinammo:] «Stringi nella tua mano una manciata d’erba, colpisci con quella e non mancare al tuo giuramento» 1 . Lo trovammo perseverante, un servo ottimo, pronto al pentimento.

( وخذ بيدك ضغثا ) وهو ملء الكف من الشجر أو الحشيش ، ( فاضرب به ولا تحنث ) في يمينك ، وكان قد حلف أن يضرب امرأته مائة سوط ، فأمره الله أن يأخذ ضغثا يشتمل على مائة عود صغار ، ويضربها به ضربة واحدة ، ( إنا وجدناه صابرا نعم العبد إنه أواب ) .
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
