Quando giunsero presso Salomone, [egli] disse: «Volete forse lusingarmi con le ricchezze? Ciò che Allah mi ha concesso è meglio di quello che ha concesso a voi. No, siete voi che vi gloriate del vostro dono.

فَلَمَّا جَاءَ سُلَيْمَانَ أي: جاءه الرسل بالهدية قَالَ منكرا عليهم ومتغيظا على عدم إجابتهم: أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍ فَمَا آتَانِ اللَّهُ خَيْرٌ مِمَّا آتَاكُمْ فليست تقع عندي موقعا ولا أفرح بها قد أغناني الله عنها وأكثر علي النعم، بَلْ أَنْتُمْ بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ لحبكم للدنيا وقلة ما بأيديكم بالنسبة لما أعطاني الله.
He has revealed to you ˹O Prophet˺ the Book in truth, confirming what came before it, as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel
