Did you know that clouds are extremely heavy? Until recently, I thought they were light and fluffy 🙂🌥

The weight of an average cumulus cloud is over 1 MILLION lbs! These ayat described the clouds as being 'heavy' and it's really something to reflect upon as we walk outside with no worry of being crushed, even on the cloudiest of days.

Next time you see a cloud, reflect upon the many ways Allah has provided you with safety and security from things that you would be unable to protect yourself from if it was in your control alone.

We should not allow the thick dark clouds to cover  the light of our heart.At times if there is thick dark clouds,it is ok.It doesnt mean that sun has lost its light.We should not carry that heavy cloud inside our heart.
Allah continuously empties the dark cloud by pouring us rain which is very beautiful and loved by everyone.We should also pour our heart out by always turning to him in repentance and asking his forgiveness sincerely.Allah loves those who turn to him and ask for forgiveness.
Tears are blessing from Allah just like rain.
Rain brings back life,use tears to transform the dead heart into live heart which is joyful with faith and concious of Allah.
No matter how thick and dark the clouds are, Allah's mercy is bigger than anything.Allah embrace with his mercy and love  to those whom he wills like he pours rain abundantly wherever he wills.
 Once it rains,air becomes pure & clear and the sun shines brightly than before . 
Purify your heart from all evil and malice and spread the light of faith.
The real bleassing is the one that make us closer to Allah.Hence,thick dark cloud is a blessing and the tear too....

Rabbana la tu’akhidhna in-nasina aw akhta’na. Rabbana wala tahmil alaina isran kama hamaltahu ‘alal-ladheena min qablina. Rabbana wala tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bihi wa’fu anna waghfir lana warhamna anta mawlana fansurna ‘alal-qawmil kafireen.
'Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.'

Surat Al Raad mentions many pairs and entities that belong to this huge kingdom of Allah, 
and reminds us that our creator controls ALL OF THEM, despite them being opposites to one another. 
The day, and the night 
the sun, and the moon, 

These pairs do exist in human behaviors and choices,
The right, and the wrong, 
Even when we choose to do good, this could be done in secret, or in public, 

There are 32 pairs that exist in Surah 13, can you find them? we asked this question and got beautiful reflections

Safiyya Ihsan wrote: 

'Using your prompt I tried scouting for some pairs and was able to fish out the following: Night and day, male and female, mountains and rivers, sun and moon, angels before and behind, hope and fear, rain and thunder, heaven and earth, truth and falsehood, jannah and jahannam, darkness and light, blindness and sight.
The ayahs that resonated with me for tying these pairs together are verses 2-3 & 11.
Verses 2-3: It is Allah Who has raised the heavens without pillars- as you can see- then established Himself on the Throne. He has subjected the sun and the moon, each orbiting for an appointed term. He conducts the whole affair. He makes the signs clear so that you may be certain of the meeting with your Lord. And He is the One Who spread out the earth and placed firm mountains and rivers upon it, and created fruits of every kind in pairs. He covers the day with night. Surely in this are signs for those who reflect.
Verse 11: For each one there are successive angels before
and behind, protecting them by Allah's command. Indeed, ***Allah would never change a people's state of favour until they change their own state of faith.*** And if it is Allah's Will to torment a people, it can never be averted, nor can they find a protector other than Him.'

In Fear and Hope... this phrase is used in the Quran at least twice in the context of making dua.

It is also used one other time - to describe what we feel when we see an awe-striking, fearsome  creation: lightning.

What do we feel when Allah shows us lightning? 
Fear of something so powerful and unstoppable and unearthly. 
Hope for a gentle rain and new life on earth.

Can we place our finger on that awe and fear and hope that lightning inspires in us?
Can we bring those qualities to our dua?

خوفًا من الصاعقة، طمعًا في نفع المطر... وعن عبد الله بن الزبير أنه كان إذا سمع صوت الرعد ترك الحديث، وقال: "سبحان من يسبح الرعد بحمده والملائكة من خيفته"، ويقول: "إن هذا الوعيد لأهل الأرض شديد". البغوي:2/518.

Our relationship with our Lord should be rooted in a balance of awe, fear, and hope. 
In Surah Ar-Ra’d, verses 12-13, Allah SWT provides a powerful example through the phenomena of lightning and thunder.

Lightning strikes with a brilliance that stuns the eyes, invoking awe at its grandeur. At the same time, it fills us with a sense of fear, as it is a force beyond our control, reminding us of our vulnerability. Yet, amidst this fear, there is hope—the hope that we can find safety and protection from the storm. Similarly, thunderbolts and heavy clouds that bring down strong showers are awe-inspiring displays of nature, stirring a mix of fear and hope in our hearts.

The verse tells us that the thunder glorifies Allah, and so do the angels, who worship Him in awe. These elements of nature, which seem so overpowering to us, are in complete submission to Allah’s will, praising Him with every strike of lightning and every clap of thunder.

These illustrations serve as a reminder of Allah’s immense power—the One who controls all things, including the mightiest forces of nature. 

They invite us to reflect on our relationship with Him, filled with awe at His majesty, fear of His immense power, and hope in His protection and mercy. While we may feel small and powerless before such displays of nature, they serve as signs pointing to the greatness of the Creator—Almighty Allah, the One whose power is unmatched and who alone is worthy of praise and worship.

JazakAllah for sharing. There is a thunder storm where i am now. Don't you find it amazing when youre reading a verse and sometimes the exact same phenomenon is occuring at that moment. 

I remember sometime back while walking on a rooftop i was reading from Quran.com a verse of how raindrops appear from between clouds and as i was reading i saw raindrops appear on my mobile device then and there- i looked up and it was an experience i doubt i can ever forget

Subhan'Allah! This ayah resonates deeply with me, especially whenever I seek change in my life and within myself. Recently, I had the privilege of attending MAS CON LA for the first time, Alhamdulillah! During the event, one of the speakers highlighted this verse, reminding me of my journey when I first converted to Islam. Back then, I worked to build new habits and let go of old ones. Of course, these changes didn’t happen overnight—it took many mistakes, persistence, and self-agency to believe in myself.

This ayah serves as a powerful reminder: while the outcomes are always in Allah’s سبحانه وتعالى hands, we are also called to believe in ourselves, in each other, and in the strength of the ummah. This belief is crucial for building the resilience we need to navigate this life and prepare for the hereafter, insha'Allah.

Today, as I reflect, I am reminded that tomorrow offers another chance to do more—to find clarity, rally courage, and take collective action to stand for what we believe in. It is our responsibility to strive for meaningful change, including seeking positions of influence to mobilize policies that benefit our ummah. Most importantly, it's not about how we start but how we end—with hope in the mercy and guidance that Allah سبحانه وتعالى has given us.

In modern times, it's easier to comprehend the existence of an unseen world (al-ghaib) because we actively interact with something invisible to the naked eye on a daily basis. 

The idea of wifi would have been difficult for people to comprehend a few decades ago. But we experience its benefits on a daily basis. Invisible to the naked eye, but definitely a reality.

A brain that can experience and know that a technology like wifi can invisibly transmit massive amounts of data in seconds is a brain that can more easily comprehend the unseen realm:

- Angel's worshipping, guarding, observing, recording.
- Shayateen whispering, suggesting, tempting.

Next time you think about your wifi connection, or walk into a building wondering if there is a public wifi connection available, take a few minutes to reflect on the unseen world (al-ghaib) that surrounds you and think about how being actively aware of that world can impact your life and your actions.

Last Ramadan, on a beautiful sunny afternoon, I was sitting on the ground with my 7 year old daughter after praying Dhuhr together. We made dua and started talking about Allah.

At that same moment, we heard a loud rumble and stiking clap from outside my home. The wall shook, and the floor shook. She jumped into my arms and asked what it was. I responded that Allah had sent Thunder. A sign of His might, a reminder and a warning. 

I thought to myself, if He had chosen for that thunder to overtake us, no one would be able to save us, except Him. Fear came over me. And so in hope and fear, I made dua for Allah to keep us safe from His might. My heart calmed. 
How glorious is the Lord of the worlds, the Almighty.

فإذا كان هو وحده الذي يسوق للعباد الأمطار والسحب التي فيها مادة أرزاقهم، وهو الذي يدبر الأمور، وتخضع له المخلوقات العظام التي يُخافُ منها وتزعج العباد، وهو شديد القوة؛ فهو الذي يستحق أن يعبد وحده لا شريك له. السعدي:415.
