An Islamic wisdom tells us 'No one experiencing sadness will read Surat Yusuf except that they will find relief'.  So why Surat Yusuf ?

Amidst all the trials, heartbreak, lies and struggles, Prophet Yusuf continuously and consistently is described as from the 'muhsineen' (those who embody moral excellence).

His brothers throwing him into a well, his separation from his father for decades, his selling into slavery and his persecution in prison for a crime he didn't commit didn't harden his heart or change his character.

He remained from the muhsineen, he forgave when he had a choice from a position of power, he saved a nation from hunger and after it all, he remembered that despite his great suffering, Allah was good to him.

In the face of grief, trials and struggle may we be gifted with the ability to show Ihsan. 

To keep showing up with our best when the world gives us its worst.

Because Allah, in His infinite generosity and grace, has always been good to us. 

And because He loves the muhsineen (those who engage in Ihsan). 

May we be of them.  Ameen.

No family is immune from complications, Allah will not give you or me a normal family. Wether you like it or not , there is gunna be some body who is trouble. That is just how Allah made us. 

And sometimes you will even wonder how are u two are related.. it could be like that, but because Allah decided that you had to be around certain people in your life and they had to be your trial and you had to be theirs.....and 
you are tied to them for life. 

Subhaan  Allah in the case of prophet Jacob and Yusuf, peace be upon them, on one hand and the brothers of Yusuf on the other .... like if you think about it , it will look like a mismatch right ? But its not , its a decree of Allah that they be family, that they be blood and even bonded to each other for better and worse . 

We .... have to just let go the idea of some kind of 'A life where the people in our lives non of them are going to be a source of difficulty' ..... 

May Allah always make it easy for us , give us wisdom and help us see these difficulties to be able to balance our lives right ...

Ameen. May Allah make it easy and source of strength to serve Allah

İn this captivating narrative, one constant element stands out – the 'qamis' (shirt). Notice how the story revolves around it, ultimately returning to this symbolic garment. Some commentators have aptly titled this surah 'Qassas al-Qamis' (The Story of the Shirt). While much has been said about this tale, I'd like to highlight an aspect that resonates with me.

Throughout Prophet Yusuf's (Aleyhisalam) life, the qamis itself, though falsely tainted by others, remains unstained, serving as irrefutable evidence. Whether it's the shirt retrieved from the dark well, falsely tainted with deceit, or the one scratched in Aziz's palace, testifying to his innocence, or even the royal attire he wore as Egypt's leader, the qamis itself remains unblemished.

This narrative  underscores human vulnerability, revealing how Prophet Yusuf (Aleyhisalam) was susceptible to pitfalls at every turn, where plots were woven against him. humanly, he could have fallen prey to:

The depths of the well, where despair and darkness might have consumed him.
The solitude in Aziz' palace, where loneliness could have led him astray.
The throne of power, where the intoxication of authority might have led him to avenge the injustice perpetrated against him.

Yet, his unwavering faith and mindful character triumphed over these vulnerabilities. Every time this surah quotes an event it's a testament to Syyiduna Yusuf (Aleyhisalam) mindfulness, which he preserved throughout his life journey from the depths of well to the heights of power. thereby maintaining the purity of his Qamis intact. 

So the shirt here, in a subtle nuance, represents  garment of righteousness (libas al-taqwa). Just as the qamis withstand the darkness of the well, false accusations, and the temptations of power, our spiritual garment must resist the stains of sin, worldly allurements, and trials.

May Allah SWT  grant us the strength to embody Yusuf's AS character, in the depths of darkness, in solitude, and at the pinnacle of power Ameen

Surat Yusuf: 
This chapter reminds us that hardship come first and it is described through problems that Yusuf had from a young age. He was betrayed by his brother and separated from his dad, dumped in a well and found by slave-merchants, sold as a slave, and he was accused of adultery king's wife. 

With all of this hardship one should remember that Yusuf was given a many blessings including physical beauty and special ability to translate dreams that became essential when consulting the King, to name a few. When one is faced with hardship that is actually the process of making the soul resilient and more more beautiful. When the soul is strengthened, that is the point it is ready to be given something higher, i.e. being reunited with his most beloved brother, Benyamin and father, Jacob. Moreso, he was able to forgive his brothers whom betrayed him. This chapter inspires it's reciters feelings of hopefulness and forgiveness. After hardship, with reliance in God, good things are destined to come.

The story of Yusuf (A.S.) and the events that Musa (A.S.) and Khidr (A.S.) encountered are my greatest means of finding solace through life's trials. Wa lillāhil Hamd. The story of Yusuf (A.S.) in particular, is one that I find myself reflecting back to over and over as I Journey, finding inspiration from various parts based on the particular circumstance or season of my life. This is the Surah that inspired my love for, and connection with the name of Allāh Al-Lateef (sometimes written as Al-Latīf), and it has become my favorite, Alhamdulillāh.

In this season of my life, I find myself finding strength and solace from two aspects:
1. Yusuf had a good dream, and his brothers dropping him into the well became a crucial part of setting the dream in motion. However, does that then mean that the brothers did the right thing? Would they be considered to have done something good? No, they were wrong. They transgressed. They were unjust to him. Yet, in the end, Allāh made their plan work for Yusuf rather than against him. Allah made the same thing that could have ruined him be a stepping stone to his elevation. But what was Yusuf (A.S.) doing through it all? He was focusing on Allāh, and this is key. Despite what was going on seemingly against his favor - from the well to slavery, from being wrongfully accused to being sent to prison, from all that happened in prison to him being honored and elevated in the position that he was, his focus did not deviate from Allāh. That is how he was able to forgive his brothers and accept them at a stage when he could have avenged himself. This teaches me that just because something someone else does ends up benefitting me doesn't mean that they were right to do so. It just means that no matter what is done against me, my dreams, or my plans, if I focus on Allāh, He can turn it all to be for me rather than against me. And the key here is what I chose to focus on.

2. How Yaqoob (A.S.) grieved. He knew that Yusuf was alive, as he knew about his dream. Think about it, who may have taught Yusuf how to interpret dreams? He must have had conviction that Allāh will take care of his beloved, yet he still cried until his eyes turned white. And a remarkable thing that is truly inspirational about his grief is that he chose to complain to no one except Allāh. Sometimes we try to get sympathy from people when we are hurting, so we complain to them. But what we seek from people is in the hands of Allāh - the true understanding of the depth of our pain, the comfort and compassion, the healing... all of it. People can disappoint us when we expect from them because we're all weak and bankrupt, but with Allāh we are guaranteed to get our needs met in the most beautiful of ways, SubhanAllah. Because of his focus, Yaqoob (A.S.) was also able to forgive and ask forgiveness for the brothers. That is someone whose focus is Allāh rather than the nafs.

This organizes all of the noise and the chaos into one simple quest: how do I walk to Allāh in this season?

، پھر بھی انہوں نے امید نہیں ہاری کیونکہ وہ جانتے تھے کہ ان کے مصائب میں کبھی تنہا نہیں ہوں گے۔ اللہ ہمیشہ اس کے ساتھ تھا۔

یہ آپ کے لیے ایک یاد دہانی ہے اگر آپ ایسی صورت حال میں پھنس گئے ہیں جس میں فرار کا کوئی دروازہ نہیں ہے، تو مایوس نہ ہوں! بس اللہ کی طرف پورے یقین کے ساتھ رجوع کریں۔ اللہ سے دعا کرو کیونکہ وہ ناممکن کو ممکن میں بدل سکتا ہے۔ ہمارے لیے یہ سمجھنا مشکل ہو سکتا ہے کہ کچھ کیسے ہو گا، لیکن اس کے لیے یہ مشکل نہیں ہے۔ وہ ایسے دروازے بنا سکتا ہے جو پہلے پوشیدہ تھے۔ وہ راستہ نکال سکتا ہے جب ہماری نظر میں کوئی نہ ہو۔ 

ہمیشہ یاد رکھیں کہ مثبت ہونے کا مطلب یہ نہیں ہے کہ ہم اپنے مسائل کے وجود سے انکار کرتے ہیں۔ اس کا مطلب یہ ہے کہ ہم یقین رکھتے ہیں کہ اللہ ہر مشکل سے بڑا ہے جو ہمیں درپیش ہے۔ اس سے کوئی فرق نہیں پڑتا ہے کہ آپ کے آگے کیا ہے، حل ہمیشہ اللہ کے پاس ہے۔

When the Past Haunts You….

Yusuf (AS) had a past too.
He was betrayed. Sold. Imprisoned. Forgotten.
But he didn’t let it poison his heart.

Sometimes, we relive things over and over…
Regrets. Loss. 'If only…'
And those 'what ifs' become chains.

But Surah Yusuf shows us that Allah can rewrite the meaning of every wound.
Your pain isn’t pointless.
Even the memories that hurt—
He can use them to raise you, cleanse you, strengthen you.

'Indeed, he who fears Allah and is patient—then surely, Allah does not let the reward of the doers of good be lost.' (12:90)



When the Present Feels Heavy — and You Don’t Know Why

'Burden, anxiety of now ….don’t know why.'

That’s one of the hardest places to be.
When your chest is heavy, but your eyes don’t even know what to cry for.
You’re functioning maybe even smiling. But inside? Uneasy. Exhausted. On edge.

Sometimes, that’s the soul’s way of signaling that it needs closeness with Allah.
Not punishment just a gentle call.

Like Yaqub (AS) in Surah Yusuf
when he lost Yusuf, he didn’t collapse.
He turned inward, pouring his pain only to Allah:

'I complain of my sorrow and grief only to Allah…' (12:86)

That one verse is a lifeline.
Because no one truly understands the heaviness…
except the One who placed the heart inside you.


When I Think About the Grave and What Comes After

I think of lying alone in the earth.
Of Munkar and Nakir.
Of whether your deeds will protect or expose me.
Of the moment the trumpet will blow.
And it terrifies me 

It should. That fear isn’t weakness it’s awareness.

But listen:
Yusuf (AS) saw death not as an end, but a reunion.

'Take my soul as one who submits to You, and join me with the righteous.' (12:101)

He didn’t fear it…
because he knew who he had lived for.

So ask yourself gently:
Are you trying? Are you repenting? Are you seeking Allah even through your fear?

Then your fear is not a curse.
It’s a sign of a living heart a heart that wants to meet its Creator safely.

'And those whose hearts tremble when the name of Allah is mentioned…' (Surah Az-Zumar 39:23)
That trembling? That’s you.
And Allah sees it.



When You Fear for Your Kids in This World of Fitnah

This is the cry of every mother, every father:
'What kind of world will my children grow up in?'

With Dajjal, deception, shamelessness, broken values, spiritual numbness all around—
you’re afraid. Rightfully so.

But remember:
Yusuf (AS) was raised in a palace filled with temptation.
Yet Allah protected him.
Not because of where he was
but because of the dua of his father…
and the sincerity in his own heart.

So never underestimate your prayers for your children.

Cry for them.
Beg for their protection.
Teach them Surah Al-Kahf.
Cover them in the last two ayahs of Surah Al-Baqarah.
And believe that Allah can guide even in the darkest times.


When You Imagine the Day of Qiyamah

The sky torn.
The earth flattened.
The scrolls opening.
The weight of every word ever spoken.

It overwhelms the soul.
But here’s a whisper of hope:

'That Day, no soul will be wronged at all…' (21:47)
Not even a grain’s worth of unfairness.
Allah knows the nights you couldn’t sleep.
The tears you wiped alone.
The burdens you carried without a word.

He sees.
And on that Day
He will honor every ounce of sincerity, even if the world never saw it.

      Final Heartfelt Du’a 

Ya Allah…
Heal the wounds of my past.
Lighten the burdens of my present.
Protect me in my grave and make my last breath one of faith.
Shield my children from every fitnah hidden or seen.
Strengthen us to survive the deception of Dajjal.
Grant me a heart that trembles for You but trusts You completely.
And when the Day comes, let me run toward You not in fear, but in longing.
Make me among those You are proud of on the Day You gather all souls.

I have been making dua for my all children’s to become light for the creations of Allah Subahanu wa’tala that shines till the day of judgement' Ameen 🤲🏻🥺

The Quran gave stories to us for a very particular purpose: to guide humanity in what they need. Not to entertain humanity. Here Allah is telling us the best of all stories, so that we can relate it to our lives and seek comfort through them
'How beautiful is Surah Yusuf, it begins with a distant dream and ends with the dream becoming a reality'. 

Quran tells us how Prophet Yusuf (AS) suffered a series of tests and trials, yet he remained obedient to Allah. His brothers had abandoned him in the well, then he was found and sold as a slave at the market. Despite being a loyal servant to the king, Yusuf (AS) was defamed and imprisoned yet he did not lose hope because he knew was never alone in his suffering. Allah was always with him.

It’s a reminder for you if you are stuck in a situation with no door for escape, do not be hopeless! Simply turn to Allah with full conviction. Make dua to Allah for He can turn the impossible into possible. It may be difficult for us to comprehend how something would happen, but it is not difficult for Him. He can create doors which were previously invisible. He can make a way out when there is none in our sight. 

Always Remember being positive doesn't mean we deny the existence of our problems; it means we believe Allah is greater than any problem we face. No matter what is ahead of you, the solution is always with Allah.

If we look at story of Yousaf(A.S) psychologically, Yousaf(A.S) had to go through the worst of Trauma i.e Childhood Trauma. Imagine a 7-8 years old child being thrown in the middle of a well by his own brothers because of something he wasn’t even responsible yet he remained firm and didn’t lose hope in the mercy of Allah(S.W.T) because he knew that Allah has chosen him for a bigger purpose and Allah(S.W.T) would never let him down. 

It’s a lesson for us that no matter how dark life might get always remember Allah(S.W.T) is with us and he would never leave us alone and knowing that at the end of the tunnel there is light, even if we don’t see it. All we had to do is entrust our affairs to Allah and be content knowing that He will take care of us. Learn to become okay with knowing that not everything will happen the way we want it to. It’ll happen the way He wants it to, Because He wants the best for us more than we ever will want for us

Yaqoob(A.S) told his son Yusuf that Allah(S.W.T) will perfect his favours upon you. And the biggest favour that Allah(S.W.T) gave him was, Hidayah from such a young age. Everyone turns to Allah, consciously or subconsciously, seeking his favours but remaining obedient to Allah even when things are not going your way is actually a test from Allah. A calamity that comes to you and brings you closer to Allah is better than a 'favour' that causes you to forget the remembrance of Allah.' That is also why the straight path to Paradise is the greatest favour you can ask Allah.

Everytime your heart is hurting, just stop for a second, and think of Allah. Think of Allah's Mercy and Allah's Love. Remind yourself, who your Lord is. He is the same Lord who got Yousaf(A.S) from darkness of well to Kingdom of Egypt.

Many of us may be going through an intense emotional trauma at this moment..
The excruciating pain which can never be shared and get treated from a fellow human being, because it was caused by your own blood , your most loved spouse or your close friend. Revealing the cause of the heartache with someone is more damaging to your relationship thus you can cry out for only Allah's help.
Same happened to Ya'kub alaihissalam. He can not share his pain about Yousuf alaihissalam with any other because the culprits are his own sons.
But, at the end there was relief. A relief and therapy none could bring except Allah Almighty. 
So let's never lose hope. May Allah grant us the 'beautiful patience'.
