ولله ملك السماوات والارض يغفر لمن يشاء ويعذب من يشاء وكان الله غفورا رحيما ١٤
وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَآءُ ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭا ١٤
وَلِلّٰهِ
مُلۡكُ
السَّمٰوٰتِ
وَالۡاَرۡضِؕ
يَغۡفِرُ
لِمَنۡ
يَّشَآءُ
وَيُعَذِّبُ
مَنۡ
يَّشَآءُ ؕ
وَكَانَ
اللّٰهُ
غَفُوۡرًا
رَّحِيۡمًا
١٤
Dan hanya milik Allah kerajaan langit dan bumi. Dia mengampuni siapa yang Dia kehendaki, dan akan mengazab siapa yang Dia kehendaki. Dan Allah Maha Pengampun, Maha Penyayang.

وقدمت المغفرة هنا بقوله: (يغفر لمن يشاء ويعذب من يشاء) ليتقرر معنى الإطماع في نفوسهم، فيبتدروا إلى استدراك ما فاتهم. وهذا تمهيد لوعدهم الآتي في قوله: (قل للمخلفين من الأعراب) إلى قوله: (فإن تطيعوا يؤتكم الله أجرًا حسنًا). ابن عاشور: 26/166.

They were told to focus on
