ام تقولون ان ابراهيم واسماعيل واسحاق ويعقوب والاسباط كانوا هودا او نصارى قل اانتم اعلم ام الله ومن اظلم ممن كتم شهادة عنده من الله وما الله بغافل عما تعملون ١٤٠
Ataukah kamu (orang-orang Yahudi dan Nasrani) berkata bahwa Ibrahim, Ismail, Ishak, Yakub dan anak cucunya adalah penganut Yahudi atau Nasrani? Katakanlah, "Kamukah yang lebih tahu atau Allah, dan siapakah yang lebih zalim daripada orang yang menyembunyikan kesaksian dari Allah1 yang ada padanya?" Allah tidak lengah terhadap apa yang kamu kerjakan.

Imām Ibn al-Jawzī (d. 597/1201) summarized the scholars' opinions in his book "Zād al-Masīr" as follows:
1. Allah bore witness to them with a testimony that Abraham and those mentioned with him were Muslims, but they concealed it. [al-Ḥasan, Zayd ibn Aslam]
2. They concealed the truth about Islam and the prophethood of *Muḥammad*, while knowing that he was a prophet and that his religion was Islam. [Abū al-ʿĀliyah, Qatādah]
