[Was reading surat Mariam and remembered this essay that I wrote more than 11 years ago entitled 'Be'. I've changed how some words are written but left it otherwise intact. Reading this verse made me reflect on how people misuse power and authority. In government, workplaces, families—everywhere—we see individuals abusing the small authority Allah has given them. Men, in particular, often assert their dominance in households and society, making others feel inferior.

These verses were powerful as they describe the state of some who turn back to disbelief after being guided, amidst still having friends who try to call them back to guidance. It's such a vivid description of a state of confusion and a warning that one may fall back into disbelief, may we be protected from this.

Basic Themes: 1. Unity of Allah is the reality in this universe. 2. Polytheism has no foundation. 3. Prophet Ibrahim -peace be upon him- preached Tawhid. Other Prophets also gave the same message. 4. Allah's judgment will come and the truth will prevail. 5. Allah gives right the guidance about food and other matters of life. 6.
