فقال اني احببت حب الخير عن ذكر ربي حتى توارت بالحجاب ٣٢
فَقَالَ إِنِّىٓ أَحْبَبْتُ حُبَّ ٱلْخَيْرِ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّى حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتْ بِٱلْحِجَابِ ٣٢
فَقَالَ
إِنِّيٓ

ٱلۡخَيۡرِ

بِٱلۡحِجَابِ

il dit : "Oui, je me suis complu à aimer les biens (de ce monde) au point [d’oublier] le rappel de mon Seigneur jusqu’à ce que [le soleil] se soit caché derrière son voile.

I found it beautiful how horses show up in both Surat al-adiyat and Surat sad, even though they’re talking about different people. In both places, horses represent a deep love for worldly things, not just owning them but being emotionally attached to them. The Quran even uses similar wording (mutashabihat) about hubb al-khayr, which made me look at these verses alongside each other. It is fair to state time is going fast, and we are distracted and preoccupied, especially when we do not balance social media correctly or wordly pursuance. Sure, social media has it's merits but scrolling through we often become easily distracted.

1. If you give something up for Allah SW he will replace it with something better. Soliman AS sacrificed his horses after them taking him from the remembrence of Allah SW, and Allah SW replaced that by giving him control over the wind to transport him where he desires.
