What I love about this verse is the fact that Allah is inviting you to aid. He is not saying to deal with life passively, but exactly the opposite. Be proactive in your search for Him each every moment of your day. Islam is all about إستَعانة, seeking help and knowing that Allah has not left you alone not for a split of a second. And that مَعِيَّة, or companionship of the Divine, is exactly what Allah invites us to every single moment of our day....Voir plus

The themes of sabr (patience) and salat (prayer) have drawn my attention in Surat Al-Baqara. Twice, we are asked to seek help through patience and prayer, and in verse 45, we're reminded about the importance of humbleness in doing so.
We are told, that 'If the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was distressed about anything, he would pray' (Source: Sunan Abī Dāwūd 1319). So prayer was no longer only an obligation, it was a lifeline, i...Voir plus
This verse 132 of Surah Taha combines so many different threads: family, prayer, patience, and sustenance. They are connected in ways we can see, and ways we cannot see; but it seems that prayer is at the heart of a healthy family life and it is also the secret to securing our provision.

When you go on a scavenger hunt, you're given a list of things to find because in order to find something, you have to know what you’re looking for.
And that’s exactly why we struggle with tawakkul when it comes to our rizq. Because with our duas we create a list of things we want to have. A house. A job. A spouse. A number in our bank account. And once we’ve decided what it’s supposed to look like, we begin to look for those specific things.

A few weeks ago, I moved from the UK to Canada with my husband and children. My husband gave me some money to spend upon myself. So I looked at what I have and I felt Allah has given me a lot. I don’t want to buy anything just for the sake of spending money. So I kept the money for a few weeks. I contemplated and contemplated what I should purchase as my first gift? I prefer right...Voir plus
