هُوَ
ٱلَّذِي
جَعَلَكُمۡ
خَلَٰٓئِفَ
فِي
ٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ
فَمَن
كَفَرَ
فَعَلَيۡهِ
كُفۡرُهُۥۖ
وَلَا
يَزِيدُ
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
كُفۡرُهُمۡ
عِندَ
رَبِّهِمۡ
إِلَّا
مَقۡتٗاۖ
وَلَا
يَزِيدُ
ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ
كُفۡرُهُمۡ
إِلَّا
خَسَارٗا
٣٩
Allah este Cel care v-a făcut pe voi urmași pe Pământ. Cel care este necredincios, împotriva lui se va întoarce necredința sa. Iar necredința celor necredincioși nu sporește decât mânia Domnului lor și nu le sporește necredința celor necredincioși decât numai pieirea.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
هُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَئِفَ فِى الاٌّرْضِ
(He it is Who has made you successors generations after generations in the earth,) meaning, all people succeed one another, generation after generation. This is like the Ayah:
وَيَجْعَلُكُمْ حُلَفَآءَ الاٌّرْضِ
