ام تامرهم احلامهم بهاذا ام هم قوم طاغون ٣٢
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ طَاغُونَ ٣٢
أَمۡ
تَأۡمُرُهُمۡ
أَحۡلَٰمُهُم
بِهَٰذَآۚ
أَمۡ
هُمۡ
قَوۡمٞ
طَاغُونَ
٣٢
Or do their ˹intelligent˺ minds prompt them to this ˹paradox˺?1 Or are they ˹just˺ a transgressing people?

'This is as if to say: 'Do their intellects cause them to make this contradictory claim [that he is a soothsayer and a madman]?' The soothsayer (kâhin) is one who has immense wit and intelligence, while the madman (majnoon) is one who no wit or intelligence whatsoever.' - ash-Shawkâni

الحلم: العقل... ومعنى إنكار أن تأمرهم أحلامهم بهذا: أن الأحلام الراجحة لا تأمر بمثله، وفيه تعريض بأنهم أضاعوا أحلامهم حين قالوا ذلك؛ لأن الأحلام لا تأمر بمثله، فهم كمن لا أحلام لهم، وهذا تأويل ما روي أن الكافر لا عقل له. ابن عاشور:27/64.
السؤال: كيف تفسر مقولة أن الكافر لا عقل له؟
