ALLAH teaches us that our blood ties do not determine our kinship, imaan does.
ALLAH also teaches and warns us that our faith is not a guarantee.

In Surah Hud Nuh (as) pleaded to Allah to save his (as) son but Allah said that the son was not from his(as) family.

When I became a Muslim, a relative of mine told me that I had forgotten where I came from. He told me that he might not be the most religous person, but at least he is loyal to his forefathers - unlike me, who had betrayed everything that matters.
