The Story of Two Israelites - From Tafsir Ibn Kathir

They mentioned the story of two men among the Children of Israel who were partners and who are included in the meaning of this Ayah.

Abu Jafar bin Jarir recorded that Furat bin Thalabah Al-Bahrani said concerning the Ayah,
إِنِّي كَانَ لِي قَرِينٌ
(Verily, I had a companion, Ayah 51),

'There were two men who were partners and had collected eight thousand Dinars. One of them had a craft and t...

Success is the pursuit of an ideal state you wish to achieve. The clearer you can envisage that achievement, whatever it may be, the greater the chances of working towards it. It is the notion of having a set ambition and then focusing on the journey to get you there. It is about knowing where the goalposts are so you can shoot in that direction. Almost like a diligent student, knowing that at the end of toil and hardship they will attain the job...See more

Bismillah

In Paradise, amid gardens, flowing drinks, and eternal peace, a believer sits among his companions. Their faces shine with relief and joy… the joy of having been saved.

As they speak, one of them pauses.

He says, “You know… I once had a companion.”

The others listen.

That companion, he recalls, used to mock him back in the world. He would say:

“Do you really believe this? That after we die and become dust and bones, we’ll be brou...

The Supreme Success

Narrating the pleasure and bliss of Jannah, Allah (Exalted is He) concluded in 37:61 by saying

إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ

Truly, this is the supreme success!

How beautiful!
The dwellers of Jannah said upon seeing all the pleasures in Jannah 'are we not going to die
anymore'? 'truly this is the supreme success'

Whenever we go on enjoyable holiday, we felt like it should never end. But truly the only
everla...

In the later part of the Quran , Allah begins to tell us in depth about The Hereafter. This is not a coincidence.

It is as if reading the Quran is like the extent of your life. You begin with strong belief in Allah and understand His rules.

Then you learn to implement those rules by reading about the prophets, you also learn how to return to Allah after breaking some of these commandments, as we all make mistakes.

And then your life comes t...

In Surah Saaffat verses 83-109 contrast how Prophet Ibrahim AS was treated by his father and how Ibrahim AS as a father dealt with his son.

The elders are vexed by Ibrahim AS incessant preaching of one God and desire to keep worshiping idols.

This reminds me of generational differences and also generational trauma due to ungodly, ill informed elder-youth relations. In particular, the father - son relationship. Many young Muslim men today have ...
