كُنتَ

تَتۡلُواْ

مِن

قَبۡلِهِۦ

مِن

كِتَٰبٖ

وَلَا

تَخُطُّهُۥ

بِيَمِينِكَۖ

إِذٗا

لَّٱرۡتَابَ

ٱلۡمُبۡطِلُونَ

You ˹O Prophet˺ could not read any writing ˹even˺ before this ˹revelation˺, nor could you write at all. Otherwise, the people of falsehood would have been suspicious.
