"مالِكِ يومِ الدِّين" ليست مجرد إخبار عن مُلكٍ مطلق، بل تذكيرٌ يهزّ القلب: أن هناك يومًا تُكشف فيه السرائر، وتُوزن فيه الأعمال، ويُدان فيه العاملون.
فمن علم أن الملك يومئذٍ لله وحده، استحيا أن يلقاه بعملٍ ناقص، وجدّ في إصلاح سرّه وعلانيته، وسار إلى ذلك اليوم وهو يعلم أن كل خطوة تُكتب، وكل نية تُعرض، وكل عمل سيقف بين يدي مالكه".

لما كان سؤال الله الهداية إلى الصراط المستقيم أجلّ المطالب ونيله أشرف المواهب علّم الله عباده كيفية سؤاله، وأمرهم أن يقدموا بين يديه حمده والثناء عليه، وتمجيده ثم ذكر عبوديتهم وتوحيدهم، فهاتان وسيلتان إلى مطلوبهم: توسل إليه بأسمائه وصفاته، وتوسل إليه بعبوديته. وهاتان الوسيلتان لا يكاد يرد معهما الدعاء. ابن القيم: 1/36.

Have you ever wondered why Allah used the word Malik (The King) here and not Rabb (The Lord)? For example in the first verse of Fatiha Allah says Rabul Alameen ( The lord of worlds) but here it says Maliki Yaum Addin (The King/Sovereign Of The judgement).

ہم اللہ تعالی کی نافرمانی میں مگن رہتے ہیں پھر اللہ تعالی سورہ فاتحہ میں، دن میں کئی بار ہمیں remind کرواتے رہتے ہیں کہ وہ مالک ہے جزاوسزا کے دن کا، اس دن کو مت بھولو جس دن ہر ایک کو اسکے کیے کا بدلہ ملے گا، اللہ تعالی صرف رحمان و رحیم نہیں ہے بلکہ 'منصف' بھی ہے ایسا بااختیار منصف کہ اس دن صرف اسی کی بادشاہی ہوگی اور کسی کی نہیں چلے گی۔لہٰذا صرف اسکی رحمت کو نا دیکھا جائے بلکہ اسکے انصاف سے ڈرنا چاہیے۔کیونکہ وہ رب جب انصا...عرض المزيد

The first thing that caught my attention, الحمد لله رب العالمين, right? The Lord of all of existence, العالمين, all of the realms, all of the worlds, all the creations, all the creatures and their functions.

One reflection that I've had is that in making a dua, the main goal of it is actually to strengthen our relationship with Allah in doing so, and the particular thing that we are asking for is secondary.
For indeed, if our relationship with Allah is good, then the ease, help, and the resources that we are asking for in order to handle our situation will automatically come to us through Allah's mercy and in the way that He wills.
