وَلَقَدِ

ٱسۡتُهۡزِئَ

بِرُسُلٖ

مِّن

قَبۡلِكَ

فَأَمۡلَيۡتُ

لِلَّذِينَ

كَفَرُواْ

ثُمَّ

أَخَذۡتُهُمۡۖ

فَكَيۡفَ

كَانَ

عِقَابِ

٣٢

Many messengers before you [Muhammad] were mocked, but I granted respite to the disbelievers: in the end, I took them to task- how terrible My punishment was!
