These are verses of the clear Book.

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

These are verses of the clear Book.

— Saheeh International

We recite to you a part of the story of Mūsā and Pharaoh with truth for a people who believe.

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

We recite to you from the news of Moses and Pharaoh in truth for a people who believe.

— Saheeh International

Indeed, Pharaoh had become high-handed in the land, and had divided its people into different groups; he used to persecute a group of them, slaughtering their sons and keeping their women alive. Indeed he was one of the mischief-makers,

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Indeed, he was of the corrupters.

— Saheeh International

while We intended to favor those who were held as weak in the land, and to make them leaders and make them inheritors,

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

And We wanted to confer favor upon those who were oppressed in the land and make them leaders and make them inheritors

— Saheeh International

and give them power in the land, and to show Pharaoh, Hāmān and their armies the very thing they were fearing from them.

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

And establish them in the land and show Pharaoh and [his minister] Hāmān and their soldiers through them1 that which they had feared.

— Saheeh International

We inspired the mother of Mūsā saying, “Suckle him (Mūsā). Then once you fear about him, cast him in the river, and do not fear, and do not grieve. Surely We are going to bring him back to you and appoint him one of (Our) messengers.”

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

And We inspired to the mother of Moses, "Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers."

— Saheeh International

ﭿ

So the family of Pharaoh picked him up, so that he becomes for them an enemy and a (cause of) grief. Indeed Pharaoh, Hāmān and their armies were mistaken.

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

And the family of Pharaoh picked him up [out of the river] so that he would become to them an enemy and a [cause of] grief. Indeed, Pharaoh and Hāmān and their soldiers were deliberate sinners.

— Saheeh International

And the wife of Pharaoh said, (to Pharaoh about Mūsā), “He may be a delight of eye for me and you. Do not kill him. It is hoped that he will be of benefit to us, or we will adopt him as a son.” And they were not aware (of what was going to happen).

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

And the wife of Pharaoh said, "[He will be] a comfort of the eye [i.e., pleasure] for me and for you. Do not kill him; perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son." And they perceived not.1

— Saheeh International

And the heart of the mother of Mūsā became restless; indeed she was about to disclose this (the real facts about Mūsā), had We not strengthened her heart to remain among those who have firm belief (in Allah’s promise).

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

And the heart of Moses' mother became empty [of all else]. She was about to disclose [the matter concerning] him had We not bound fast her heart that she would be of the believers.

— Saheeh International

She said to his sister, “Keep track of him.” So she watched him from a distance, while they were not aware.

— Mufti Taqi Usmani

And she said to his sister, "Follow him"; so she watched him from a distance while they perceived not.

— Saheeh International
