وَعَتَوۡاْ
عَنۡ
أَمۡرِ
رَبِّهِمۡ
وَقَالُواْ
يَٰصَٰلِحُ
ٱئۡتِنَا
بِمَا
تَعِدُنَآ
إِن
كُنتَ
مِنَ
ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ

ನಂತರ ಅವರು ಆ ಒಂಟೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಅವರ ಪರಿಪಾಲಕನ (ಅಲ್ಲಾಹನ) ಆಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಹೇಳಿದರು: “ಓ ಸ್ವಾಲಿಹ್! ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೆದರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ತಂದು ತೋರಿಸು. ನೀನು (ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ) ಸಂದೇಶವಾಹಕನಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ.”
