وَهُوَ
ٱلَّذِي
جَعَلَكُمۡ
خَلَٰٓئِفَ
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
وَرَفَعَ
بَعۡضَكُمۡ
فَوۡقَ
بَعۡضٖ
دَرَجَٰتٖ
لِّيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ
فِي
مَآ
ءَاتَىٰكُمۡۗ
إِنَّ
رَبَّكَ
سَرِيعُ
ٱلۡعِقَابِ
وَإِنَّهُۥ
لَغَفُورٞ
رَّحِيمُۢ
١٦٥
و او (الله) آن ذاتی است که شما را جانشینان (اقوام دیگر) در زمین قرار داده است، و بعضی شما را بر بعضی دیگر در مراتب برتری داد، تا شما را در آنچه (از نعمتها) که داده است بیازماید. یقینا پروردگار تو زود سزادهنده است، و بدون شک او آمرزندۀ مهربان است.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
Allah Made Mankind Dwellers on the earth, Generation After Generation, of Various Grades, in order to Test Them
Allah said,
وَهُوَ الَّذِى جَعَلَكُمْ خَلَئِفَ الاٌّرْضِ
(And it is He Who has made you generations coming after generations, replacing each other on the earth.) meaning, He made you dwell on
