أَشِحَّةً
عَلَيۡكُمۡۖ
فَإِذَا
جَآءَ
ٱلۡخَوۡفُ
رَأَيۡتَهُمۡ
يَنظُرُونَ
إِلَيۡكَ
تَدُورُ
أَعۡيُنُهُمۡ
كَٱلَّذِي
يُغۡشَىٰ
عَلَيۡهِ
مِنَ
ٱلۡمَوۡتِۖ
فَإِذَا
ذَهَبَ
ٱلۡخَوۡفُ
سَلَقُوكُم
بِأَلۡسِنَةٍ
حِدَادٍ
أَشِحَّةً
عَلَى
ٱلۡخَيۡرِۚ
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ
لَمۡ
يُؤۡمِنُواْ
فَأَحۡبَطَ
ٱللَّهُ
أَعۡمَٰلَهُمۡۚ
وَكَانَ
ذَٰلِكَ
عَلَى
ٱللَّهِ
يَسِيرٗا
١٩
[Fiind] zgârciţi cu voi1. Şi când teama vine, îi vezi pe ei cum privesc la tine cu ochii rotindu‑se2, ca acela care leşină de [spaima] morţii3. Iar când teama se duce, atunci vă rănesc pe voi cu limbi ascuţite, zgârciţi cu fapta bună4. Aceştia nu au crezut niciodată şi, de aceea, Allah zădărniceşte faptele lor, căci acest lucru este uşor pentru Allah.

Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
هَلُمَّ إِلَيْنَا
(Come here towards us,) meaning, come to where we are in the shade and enjoying fruits. But in spite of that,
وَلاَ يَأْتُونَ الْبَأْسَ إِلاَّ قَلِيلاً
أَشِحَّةً عَلَيْكُمْ
(they come not to the battle except a little, being miserly towards you.) i.e., `they are mean and have n
