﷽

اِقۡرَاۡ بِاسۡمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِىۡ خَلَقَۚ‏ ١

Read! in the name of your Lord, who has created you.

Imagine, how Hazrat Jibraeel AS came to Prophet Mohammad ﷺ and asked him to READ!
(Other meanings of 'Iqra' are to recite or repeat from memory)

Our beloved prophet ﷺ said;
‘Ma Ana bi-qari’
I am not a reader

Angle Jibraeel AS asked him ﷺ again READ!
He repeated it three times, embraced our Prophet ﷺ and revealed the initial verses of the ...

Questions to ask yourself before a Tadabbor activity:
This post is an attempt to 'CODIFY' the process of Tadabbor, and make it easier for fellow Quran Reflectors to get into the process and taste the sweetness of extracting gems from Allah's book, without violating any known principle of speaking without knowledge.

I will keep updating this list, so appreciate if you guys can comment with your tips:
1- How does Allah introduce Himself to us in t...

What made Orientalists attest to the preservation of the Quran in it's written form was the fact that they saw consistency across the various manuscripts which date back to the mid 7th century when Uthman RA ordered for the masahif (written copies of the Quran) to be unified. These consistencies exist even in cases where the uninitiated might assume that human intervention would be warranted. For example, in the writing of:
باسم ربك
بسم الله

Bis...

' FIND YOUR HIRA' '

That was the buzz phrase that was viralling in my chatgroups 2 Ramadhans ago. The idea of creating a space to replicate the Cave that the Prophet (SAW) used to seclude himself away not just from society but even from his family. To find solace, to think, to meditate, to pray.
It was only in that quiet seclusion that this first Revelation came to him (SAW).

This Ramadhan, I remind myself of this need again.

I need to find ...

Over these past few weeks, my six-year-old daughter has been learning about the first revelation — the moment Angel Jibreel (RA) descended with the words of Allah to our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAWS). Together, we’ve spoken about the verse:
ٱقْرَأْ بِٱسْمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ — Read in the name of your Lord who created.

At the Arabic calligraphy workshop with Khadija Sattar, I chose to write one simple, powerful word: Iqra — Read.
It felt l...

SUBHANALLAH......the very first ayah revealed to our prophet(saw) from our RABB,the Mighty, the Wise....
اقْرَأْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّكَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ
How powerful might be the very 1st verse???

How much wisdom does the verse have???

Are we obeying the very first command from our LORD,which is to 'READ'.???

Infact, what are we supposed to 'read' during our lifetime???

We have to seek allahs help to read and get the wisdom from quran and to get closer ...

Why Allah asked Prophet (pbuh), read in the very first revelation?? Whereas he (pbuh) was illiterate???

I was pondering over the idea of reading through the lenses of this ayah and it’s context. I come to conclusion that my definition of reading is incorrect. Reading, as I understood, is to recognise or identify symbols and infer the message through those symbols and placements of those symbols. How can we call it reading ( in general) when we ...

The purpose of marriage in the quran is written as 'litaskunu ilayha', so you can find peace in each other.
The time when the prophet SAW recieved the first revelation in cave Hira, he was extremely overwhelmed and scared, his heart was pounding, and he was fearful for himself. The experience was too much.
He came home to khadija RA and told her to cover him up, and he expressed his fears to her.
Her response to him, is a literal manifestation...
