If you have a tough time understanding Allah's wisdom or 'Why this happens to me?'
أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيماً فَآوَى Did He not find you an orphan and gave you a refuge (Qur'aan 95:6)
Imam Ibn Kathir (رحمه الله) says 'This refers to the fact that his father died while his mother was still pregnant with him, and his mother, Aminah bint Wahb died when he was only six years old. After this, he was under the guardianship of his grandfather, `Abdul-Mu...See more

Some days you'll feel like a deflated balloon. Like all energy and motivation has been sapped out of you. You want to hide away and avoid life. We've all been there.
But hopelessness has never been an option for the believer, and it's not an option for you. This doesn't mean you have to put on an act and pretend to be the happiest person in the world. This doesn't mean you're not allowed to feel sad. But it does mean that you have to reach deep...See more
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
And what is the greatest loss of all?
And the greatest sadness of life is that you didn’t recognise His love upon you, you didn’t contemplate His blessings and that all the affairs which you encountered were to make you come closer and closer to Him.
That you did not humble yourself in gratitude and nor did you look back and contemplate how He saved you from disaster over disa...See more

When you're feeling sad, maybe because other people are not understanding you, you might automatically start remembering someone who has been very understanding and compassionate with you, especially in a difficult time. And that person will stay close to your heart forever.
But here in Surah Ad-Dhuha, we and the Messenger of Allah (AS) are being told who it is that we should remember the most: it is Allah SWT, the One who is closer to us than ...See more
Maa Shaa' Allaah As I read this, I was reminded of a time (long ago) when one of my earliest teachers was leading us in Salaah. He read, with great emotion, the following verses:
The emotion was plainly visible in his voice; it brought tears to my eyes - even though I didn't know what it said. He later explained and it moved me even more. Allaah is consoling the Prophet (His blessings and peace be upon him); affirming for him His protection and...See more
The amazing structure of Surah Al-Dhuha (The Morning Brightness)
Allah reminds His Messenger of three favors and commands him three corresponding patterns of behavior in return:
First: أَلَمْ يَجِدْكَ يَتِيمًا فَآوَىٰ ﴿٦﴾ 'Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?' (6) Therefore, فَأَمَّا الْيَتِيمَ فَلَا تَقْهَرْ ﴿٩﴾ 'So as for the orphan, do not oppress.'(9)
Second: وَوَجَدَكَ ضَالًّا فَهَدَىٰ ﴿٧﴾ 'Did He not find you astray, ...See more
There’s a saying I heard a lot growing up about someone who had hit rock bottom. Instead, they were described as being 'between a rock and a hard place.'
To our brothers and sisters in Gaza:
By the late morning, when your scars and pain are visible for all to see. By the night, as it covers your tears, its stillness giving you the space to break down.
Here you are, at rock bottom. Amongst the rubble. Between a rock and a hard place. Wondering ...See more
Do you get the feeling, that when speaking to a person who is sad, devastated, depressed and broken, you dont know what to say? I get that feeling a lot. I often hesitate to call someone who has lost a loved one to death etc. I am scared, i dont know what to say. What can someone say to someone who is so sad? You can easily end up saying the wrong thing and make their condition even worse.
Surah duha is so beautiful in this. It is Allahs way of ...See more

When this blessed Surah was revealed, the first light of dawn must have shimmered with newfound meaning for the Companions. celestial play of night and day had continued since time immemorial—a spectacle witnessed by all—when Allah SWT specifically referenced these signs for His Beloved صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم, their very essence transformed. The eyes remained the same, but the 'vision' was illuminated.
Through these very signs, Allah SWT lovi...See more
