The one who purifies and rectifies his soul, subjecting it to Allah’s obedience, is indeed successful. There are many ways to help purify one’s soul, including:
- To consistently set aside time to recite the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic
- To consistently recite the morning and evening words of remembrance, those that are prescribed after the daily prayers, and others
- To only engage in worldly matters to the extent of your needs
They say the human heart is about the size of ones fist. The hand is a constant reminder of the heart.
Every time you wash your hands to safeguard yourself from physical disease, reflect on what you can do at that moment to purify your heart from spiritual disease.
Let your hand remind you of your heart. Let your heart remind you of your soul. Let your soul remind you of your Lord.
