Washing dishes can feel like a very mundane task. A task most of us have to do every day, multiple times a day.

Reflecting on and reciting this ayat while doing this daily chore may help make the task feel more meaningful, inshaAllah:

'Qad aflaha man zakaha'
'Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul'

Think about the need for us to work to purify our souls/nafs in order to attain success just like the dishes need to be cleansed so ...

The Qur’an informs us that Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had a pure heart and was a close friend of our Almighty Creator (4:125).

This indicates that to become a close friend of the Absolute King of all existence, one must cultivate a pure heart.

Hence, the Qur’an urges us to constantly check and purify our hearts (minds) from negative intentions, emotions, and thought processes.

Bismillah

Continuation from the previous reflection,
Let's see more modern-day slogans through a Muslim lens.

'Trust the process' — We trust in Allah’s qadr. The process is not random; it's divine.

'Progress, not perfection' — Allah loves consistent deeds, even if small. We grow through effort, not flawless outcomes.

'You are enough' — With iman and sincerity, we are already valued by our Creator. Our worth isn’t tied to the dunya.

'Glow u...

Love God above all else, Strengthen your connection with Him, Ask Him for everything you need & Heal your Heart

We spend many years seeking love - from family, spouse, children, friends, community, etc. To love and be loved is a beautiful blessing; however remember we were first and foremost created by an All-Loving Creator with signs of His love for us constantly surrounding us. The earth we live on, the sky that covers us, the stars, the m...

My aunt told me that pruning - the act of removing undesired branches is good for plant growth after noticing my stalled plant.
The intention is to prune out undesirable branches, strengthen the tree's framework, and guide new, healthy growth.

Fruits of high grades are also produced by it.

Then i was thinking .....for the excellent growth of us believers and to have a fruitful life in akhira we should examine and prune our thoughts, ideas,...

Every struggle against desires, every moment of patience, and every sincere intention is part of this purification. When a believer strives for Allah, even in silent battles no one sees, Allah promises guidance. Thus, the journey of life is not about perfection, but about constant return, returning to Allah with a heart that is trying to become clean.

"And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with...

The one who purifies and rectifies his soul, subjecting it to Allah’s obedience, is indeed successful. There are many ways to help purify one’s soul, including:

- To consistently set aside time to recite the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic

- To consistently recite the morning and evening words of remembrance, those that are prescribed after the daily prayers, and others

- To only engage in worldly matters to the extent of your needs

- To c...

They say the human heart is about the size of ones fist. The hand is a constant reminder of the heart.

Every time you wash your hands to safeguard yourself from physical disease, reflect on what you can do at that moment to purify your heart from spiritual disease.

Let your hand remind you of your heart. Let your heart remind you of your soul. Let your soul remind you of your Lord.

In verse 151 of surah al-Baqarah, Allah describes some of the directives given to His prophets with regards to the aims and objectives of their mission. I would like to focus here on the aspect of purification. What is meant here by purification is spiritual purification, as Allah repeats in 91:9: 'Successful indeed is the one who purifies their soul'. This verse comes after seven consecutive verses where Allah swears by different objects, the s...See more

Humbling ourselves before ALLAH.

Perhaps the thing that could bother any Muslim is the feeling of being superior to others.
While all of us know how destructive it is but it's the most favourite of tool of shaytan.

May Allah protect us from it. He Saww said that He صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم fears vanity more than any sin for us.

Imagine there's a self in me and you who wants to feel itself something high by thinking that others are nothing in...
