They say time heals all wounds. That is true, because bit by bit, with time, we tend to forget the pain & suffering. But what if instead of forgetting, we remembered instead? Instead of time healing all wounds, time becomes the torture device that opens all wounds. What if that time lasted 50,000 years? That is what Allah mentions of the duration of the day of judgement.

Here you are revived and remade
Bare-foot, alone naked and afraid
Dragged to the fire by your head –
faceless, shredded in dread -
dumb, blind and deaf -
Your body trampled by the judgement day brigade
At the plains of standing frightened to be weighed
Your gaze transfixed like solidified lead
The sun blazing just above your head
Drowning your body in your own sweat
And Allah arrives in a clouded shade –

آج جیسے ہی تلاوت کے لیے قرآن کریم کھولا تو سورۃ الحاقۃ پر آ رکی۔ ہار جیت کی کہانی، کامیابی اور ناکامی کو بیان کرتی خوبصورت سورۃ۔
