One year, during a sermon in the month of Shaban, the khatib deviated from his usual tone. The 15th of Shaban was typically reserved for a sermon focused on the horrors of the Day of Judgment. The audience would be left shaken, with tears streaming down their faces as they trembled with fear. But that year, the Khatib took a different approach. 'Let us speak of mercy this time,' he said. The sermon still revolved around the Day of Judgment, but ...

(Surah Al-Haqqah, 69:20)
'Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account.'

You know when you’re doing something you know matters — like an exam, or even something small like helping someone in secret — and deep inside, you're like,
'One day, this will count for something...'
That’s the feeling this ayah gives. It’s that moment on the Day of Judgment where someone is finally handed their book ...

I find this one of the most intriguing scenes of the day of judgment.

As young kids, my friends and I couldn’t wait to share our excitement whenever we got a new toy.
