وان يكاد الذين كفروا ليزلقونك بابصارهم لما سمعوا الذكر ويقولون انه لمجنون ٥١
وَإِن يَكَادُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَيُزْلِقُونَكَ بِأَبْصَـٰرِهِمْ لَمَّا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَيَقُولُونَ إِنَّهُۥ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ ٥١
وَإِن
يَكَادُ
ٱلَّذِينَ
كَفَرُواْ
لَيُزۡلِقُونَكَ
بِأَبۡصَٰرِهِمۡ
لَمَّا
سَمِعُواْ
ٱلذِّكۡرَ
وَيَقُولُونَ
إِنَّهُۥ
لَمَجۡنُونٞ
٥١
The disbelievers would almost cut you down with their eyes when they hear ˹you recite˺ the Reminder,1 and say, “He is certainly a madman.”

Sometimes I hesitate when sharing an ayah of the Quran on social media where it will be viewed by people from a variety of backgrounds on my friends list. This ayah reminds me that it's ok if people look at what I've shared and are displeased, judgemental, or annoyed. It's ok if they think I'm crazy or brainwashed. It's simply a reminder. And it's for the whole world, and that includes me and it includes them too.

أي: يَعينونك بأبصارهم، بمعنى: يحسدونك؛ لبغضهم إياك، لولا وقاية الله لك وحمايته إياك منهم. وفي هذه الآية دليل على أن العين إصابتها وتأثيرها حق بأمر الله -عز وجل-. ابن كثير: 4/408.
