He is the One Who sent down serenity upon the hearts of the believers so that they may increase even more in their faith. To Allah ˹alone˺ belong the forces of the heavens and the earth. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise.

I noticed something over the last few years of my life.

My fear began to dwindle away. As my fear of Allah increased, my fear of everything else decreased. Moving through a shady part of town at night, on foot, or being alone in 'scary' circumstances. Situations that used to inspire blood pressure, being on edge.. etc.. But not just that. High stress work situations, exams, family life. In reality we face so many battles throughout our life that...

The power of dua and overcoming the fear of animals, particularly cats. I'm not a pet-friendly person due to circumstances of my past. And it's a phobia I used to carry with me until recently. Because of my intense fear, my friends who have cats at home always have to ensure their cat doesn't come near me. I feel terrible, but I thank Allah (SWT) for their hospitality.

There are so many stray cats in my country of residence, and it's been a whil...

For the past few days, alhamdulillah, I've been experiencing a greater level of peace inside me. The peace that I'm referring to is felt at a bodily level, first of all, but I also feel it at a psychological level, and I also feel it silently in my heart.

So, this feeling of peace recently reminded me of the Quranic verses on 'sakinah,' which is a special type of peace that Allah sends down upon some of the believers out of His mercy, as He wil...

What can bring sakeenah/serenity to your heart when you're feeling unsettled ?

As human beings we all need reassurance during difficult moments. God knows we need that serenity and reassurance to increase in faith as the verses describe.

That reassurance may not come from the people or places we expect; however, God powerfully reminds us in this verse that the forces of the heavens and the earth belong to Him. So it will come, if we ask Him for...

I was reading sura Al Fath, and an ayah resonates with me. It shows that faith in a believer's heart is not stagnant and it can go up or down. It doesn't mean when you have a decrease in imaan that you're a bad Muslim, but you have to always strive to increase it as that makes us better. As people say, we should try being better than who we were yesterday. It's a process and Allah surely sees that we are trying and He will definitely help us and ...See more

Bismillahir Rahman Ar Raheem

This is a story more than reflection. I read an article on the news about a 44% reduction in jobs available for the position I am training for and I thought to myself and actually posted a sarcastic post on social media saying ' at least I have unemployment to look forward to in the future'. This was accompanied by a lot of negative emotions of hopelessness, exasperation, weakness that all power and decision is in th...

At this moment, we could look back in time and recall the periods of trouble and turmoil when we were inundated with anxiety and depression. Those were the days when we may have lost all hope, at wit's end, yearning for someone to bring us out of the darkness. When we had turned our faces towards the people around us, we might have wondered why there was none amongst them who would step up to rescue us. However, recounting those memories now, we ...See more

Embrace Your Hudaibiyah

The Prophet'sﷺ mission was to liberate the Ka'aba. The Muslims believed that victory was imminent after RasulAllahﷺ saw that dream, for the Prophet's dreams were a form of divine revelation. With unwavering faith, 1,400 companions accompanied him on the journey, ready to offer circumambulation, bringing their sacrificial animals along. The distance was vast, approximately 250 miles, but the Prophet's dream drove them for...

Hudaibiyyah ~ The Story of Allegiance & Divine Rewards

Surah Al Isra' establishes the connection between Masjidil Haram and Masjidil Aqsa. The Surah alludes to the close relationship between the 2 mosques; how the circumstance of one affects the other throughout time. There is a subtle indication that the strategies that were used to liberate Al Haraam Makkah may be the answer liberate Al Aqs...

The month of Dh-ul-Hijjah is around the corner, I was reciting Surah Al-Fath and realized that my reading of this chapter at this time was not mere coincidence. I felt compelled to ponder the significance of this surah, and as I delved deeper, I understood that the prayer of Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام) was a pivotal moment in the mission of our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). The journey of Hajj was not just an annual ritual for the Prophetﷺ, but an int...See more
