'It isn't about how far you have reached in the Quran, it's about how far the Quran has reached in you'
I read this today and it reminded me of the importance of reflecting upon the Quran and allowing its message to transform our hearts.

The idea of a locked up heart in this ayah makes me think of Surah Al-Fatihah: 'The Opening'.
I used to think that it's called Al-Fatihah simply because it's the opening chapter of the Quran and I didn't give it much thought beyond that. I read this and found it very interesting (It's part of the tafseer by Imam Maududi):

To clarify, he advised her of some effective breathing techniques while using the inhaler. As such, the medicine would not remain in her mo...See more
In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
The Qur’an regulates human emotion. It, asks one to exercise both patience and trust, it allows one to cry, but not to get too angry unless it is for Allah. No other Book regulates human emotion better than the Qur’an. Also, if the heart is pure, it will achieve a better state of mind, clarity and focus. Thus, it is important to constantly and consistently work on the heart.
I work in a research lab and study learning science. One of the most fascinating things I’ve learned is that reflection is critical to learning and essential for achieving mastery and change. If we want to master something, we must reflect on it, and if we want to change something, we need to understand where we are in order to guide where we need to go. Today, during the sluggish afternoon of my typical workday, it dawned on...See more
