What is the need for our prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ, if Allah ﷻ and all His Angels continuously do so already?

The simple answer is that this is an opportunity for the believers to honour themselves.

By sending Prayers and peace upon the Prophet ﷺ we are honoring ourselves by joining Allah ﷻ and His Angels in this beautiful act.

Send your prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ everyday and especially on the day of Friday.

The Prophetﷺ said:

أولى الناس بي يوم القيامة أكثرهم علي صلاةً

'The people who are most deserving of my closeness on the Day of Judgement are those who send prayers upon me in abundance.' (Source: Jami At-Tirmith: 484, Authenticated by At-Tirmithi)

The time you spend sending prayers upon the Prophetﷺ, is a reflection of how much you desire to be near to him on that day.

We learn from narrations of the Prophet (ﷺ) that there are many virtues of sending salawat (blessings and greetings) upon him. The Prophet (ﷺ) taught us that whenever we send blessings upon him once, Allah (SWT) write ten good deeds for us, forgives us of ten sins, elevates our statuses, and showers us with His mercy.

One of the easiest ways to send blessings upon the Prophet (ﷺ) is to say: صلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلَّمَ (Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wa S...

As we approach the Day of Arafah and Eid al-Adha, we might worry or even feel a sense of regret that we haven’t done enough in these first days of Dhul Hijjah—but there’s still time. There’s still time to engage in dhikr—la ilaaha ill-Allah, Allahu Akbar, Alhamdulillah. There’s still time to send salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ. There’s still time to open up the Qur’an or a translation and read a page, or half a page, or even one line. There’s still t...See more

The Prophet ﷺ taught us a very beautiful and comprehensive dua which is found in Sahih Muslim. He used to say, 'Oh Allah, I take refuge and protection with You from weakness and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, and from senility and the torment of the grave. Oh Allah give my soul a sense of taqwa and awareness of You. Purify my soul for You are the best One to purify it. You are its Protector and Guardian. Oh Allah, I take refuge with Yo...See more

Some scholars have mentioned that sending Prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ is also a form of goodness towards ones parents, because you become a reasons for why your fathers name is mentioned to the Prophet ﷺ.

The Prophet ﷺ said:
'Send prayers upon me in abundance, for indeed Allah has appointed an Angel at my grave. Whenever a person from among my nation prays upon me, that Angel informs me saying, O Muhammad, such person, the son of such person, has...

The Prophet ﷺ taught us that being pleasant and courteous with people is an act of great reward. In a very powerful and encouraging narration found in Sahih Muslim, Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Do not consider any good act insignificant, even if it is to meet your brother or sister with a cheerful face.'

Many Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) have spoken about the pleasant nature of the ...

I am so emotionally exhausted. Even those 5 free minutes I have without the kids where I could bake bread from scratch or create large Pinterest style activities or all the other amazing ideas I see everyone calling for to do in this time, I just need space to process. I am tired. While I deeply appreciate the calls for productivity to the max, I am so tired of the assumptions that if you aren’t writing a book while simultaneously memorizing hadi...See more

The twenty-first juz begins at verse forty-six of Surah al-ʿAnkabut, contains all of Surah Rum, Surah Luqman, and Surah Sajdah, and ends at verse thirty of Surah al-Aḥzab. As we progress into the final third of the Qur’an, the surahs get shorter. The bulk of the surahs in this juz are Makkan surahs focused on the test of life, monotheism, and Islamic character. Surah al-Aḥzab is the only Madinan surah in this juz.

Surah al-ʿAnkabut closes with...

The twenty-second juz of the Qur’an begins at verse thirty-one of Surah al-Aḥzab. It includes all of Surah Sabaʾ and Surah al-Fatir and ends at verse twenty-seven of Surah Yasin. Aside from Surah al-Aḥzab, the rest of this juz are Makkan surahs focused on the Oneness of Allah and the pillars of faith. The core theme that runs through all four surahs concerns the fundamental pillars of belief, primarily our relationship with Allah and His Messe...See more
