بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم ١

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ١

بِسۡمِ

ٱللَّهِ

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ

ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. In the Name of Allâh, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

1:2

الحمد لله رب العالمين ٢

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ ٢

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ

لِلَّهِ

رَبِّ

ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ

All the praises and thanks be to Allâh, the Lord¹ of the ‘Âlamîn (mankind, jinn and all that exists).²

الرحمان الرحيم ٣

ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٣

ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ

ٱلرَّحِيمِ

3. The Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

1:4

مالك يوم الدين ٤

مَـٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٤

مَٰلِكِ

يَوۡمِ

ٱلدِّينِ

4. The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)

1:5

اياك نعبد واياك نستعين ٥

إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ ٥

إِيَّاكَ

نَعۡبُدُ

وَإِيَّاكَ

نَسۡتَعِينُ

5. You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything).

اهدنا الصراط المستقيم ٦

ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ ٦

ٱهۡدِنَا

ٱلصِّرَٰطَ

ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ

Guide us to the Straight Way.¹

1:7

صراط الذين انعمت عليهم غير المغضوب عليهم ولا الضالين ٧

صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٧

صِرَٰطَ

ٱلَّذِينَ

أَنۡعَمۡتَ

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

غَيۡرِ

ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ

عَلَيۡهِمۡ

وَلَا

ٱلضَّآلِّينَ

The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace¹ , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger ² (i.e. those who knew the Truth, but did not follow it) nor of those who went astray (i.e. those who did not follow the Truth out of ignorance and error). ³, ⁴
