وامراته قايمة فضحكت فبشرناها باسحاق ومن وراء اسحاق يعقوب ٧١
وَٱمْرَأَتُهُۥ قَآئِمَةٌۭ فَضَحِكَتْ فَبَشَّرْنَـٰهَا بِإِسْحَـٰقَ وَمِن وَرَآءِ إِسْحَـٰقَ يَعْقُوبَ ٧١
وَٱمۡرَأَتُهُۥ
قَآئِمَةٞ
فَضَحِكَتۡ
فَبَشَّرۡنَٰهَا
بِإِسۡحَٰقَ
وَمِن
وَرَآءِ
إِسۡحَٰقَ
يَعۡقُوبَ
٧١
And his wife was standing by, so she laughed,1 then We gave her good news of ˹the birth of˺ Isaac, and, after him, Jacob.

An excellent proof used by those who affirm that the child Abaraham AS was to sacrifice was Ismael and not Isaac. The proof is in the verse as they are given glad tidings of both Isaac, and his future child Jacob. So how would Ibrahim believe he would have to sacrifice Isaac as a young boy if he was promised to be a father of Jacob in the future and he hadn't yet? So that child must have been Ismael AS.

Subhannallah what a great reminder.
This also brings forth gratefulness. Pondering on this ayat, I look back at my life, how many blessings, events, situations that was clearly not my own doing.
Subhannallah there are so many, I blush in reading this ayat. Allah is our creator, provider, sustainer.

النبي ابراهيم يعجبني جداً وأحبه... تشعر أنه الأب الحنون الذي يحب الخير للجميع ويهتم بحال الآخرين ولو كانوا كفاراً ويتمنى لهم الخير طالما هناك مجال لذلك.باللحظة التي ذهب عنه الروع لم يفكر;بالبشرى (بالطفل الجديد الذي سيأتي) ... لم يفكر بنفسه... بل بسرعة فكر بقوم لوط وجادل عسى أن يكون هناك مجال لإيمانهم. فما كان من الله سبحانه وتعالى إلا أن يصف ابراهيم بالحليم والأواه المنيب.. لأنه عطوف ورحيم بالعباد.صلى الله على أب الأنبياء... ابراهيم ... ورزقنا خل...See more
