He replied, “I will take refuge on a mountain, which will protect me from the water.” Noah cried, “Today no one is protected from Allah’s decree except those to whom He shows mercy!” And the waves came between them, and his son was among the drowned.

Mtoto wa Nūḥ akasema, «Nitakimbilia kwenye jabali nijihifadhi na maji na hilo litanizuia na kuzama. Nūḥ akamjibu, «Leo hakuna kitu chenye kuzuia amri ya Mwenyezi Mungu na hukumu Yake iliyoteremka kwa viumbe, ya gharika na maangamivu, isipokuwa yule aliyehurumiwa na Mwenyezi Mungu Aliyetukuka, basi amini na upande jahazini pamoja na sisi.» Hapo mawimbi makubwa yalitenganisha baina ya Nūḥ na mwanawe na akawa ni miongoni mwa waliogharikishwa wenye kuangamia.
