Warnings are sent as mercy; they are answered with jokes.</p><p>Earlier, Allah described the inner state behind such behavior: shackles on their necks, heads forced up, barriers in front and behind, unable to see. These are hearts that have refused the truth so persistently that Allah has left them to their chosen blindness. The most frightening punishment in this world is not a bolt from the sky, but a heart that no longer wants to be guided.</p><p>Yet even in this stern warning, mercy is close. Allah clarifies: “You can only warn one who follows the Reminder and fears the Most Merciful unseen.” For such a person, the Quran is not a burden but a lifeline, and the fear of Ar-Rahman is not terror but a reverent desire not to lose His love. For them, there is “forgiveness and a noble reward.”</p><p>The message is sharp but fair: repeated disregard of reminders hardens the heart, while even a small, sincere response opens it. Then He sends rain, and suddenly green bursts forth: crops, fruits, orchards, entire ecosystems of provision. We eat from what our hands did not create. Allah gently says, “Will they not then give thanks?” The issue is not a lack of proof, but a lack of gratitude.</p><p>The revival of the earth is more than a beautiful cycle; it is a living parable of resurrection. The One who brings life out of dryness will bring life out of graves. Every spring is a visual tafsir of life after death.</p><p>Then Allah turns us to the heavens: the sun running its course with precision, the alternation of night and day, the moon in its phases. None of this is random. It is, as the verse says, “the design of the Almighty, the All-Knowing.” Creation is not a chaotic accident; it is a crafted sign.</p><p>Many of us live surrounded by these signs yet rarely pause to really see them. We check the weather, but not the One who sends it; we admire a sunset without letting it remind us of the One who paints it. The Quran wants to restore that sense of awe. Who has raised us from our resting place?” The sleep they thought was the end is revealed to have been only a pause before the real awakening.</p><p>The answer they hear is full of both authority and tenderness: “This is what the Most Compassionate had promised, and the messengers told the truth.” Notice again: even at this striking moment, Allah is called Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful). His promise of resurrection was not cruelty; it was mercy, warning people that life is not meaningless and that justice is coming.</p><p>We are told: “Every soul will be fully compensated for what it did.” Nothing will be lost, not a quiet act of patience, not a hidden tear for Allah, not a small charity nobody saw. At the same time, no injustice, mockery, or betrayal will be left unaddressed. The Judge is perfectly just and fully aware.</p><p>Then comes one of the most sobering images in the Quran: “Today We will seal their mouths, and their hands will speak to Us, and their feet will testify to what they used to earn.” The very limbs that once obeyed or disobeyed will bear witness. The tongue that argued and excused will be silent. This is the day when actions speak – literally.</p><p>Yet amid this weighty scene describing disbelievers, Yā Sīn quickly turns to comfort the believers: the people of Paradise, “busy in bliss,” reclining in the shade with their spouses, surrounded by fruit and every wish fulfilled. Above all, they hear: “Peace; a word from the Most Merciful.” Imagine being greeted by Allah Himself with peace. According to Scholars, these ayaat are a response to a man who once came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) with crumbled bones in his hand, mocking: “Who will give life to bones when they have disintegrated?” The Quran responds not with a mere rebuttal, but with a sweeping reminder of our origin and Allah’s power.</p><p>“Does man not see that We created him from a sperm-drop, yet behold! He becomes an open opponent.” The human being forgets his beginning: from something weak and unremarkable, Allah shaped intelligence, will, and voice. The One who brought you from nothing to something has not lost the ability to bring you back after death.</p><p>Allah then states a universal principle: “His command, when He intends a thing, is only that He says to it, ‘Be,’ and it is.” No process, no delay, no effort. The entire universe, billions of galaxies, vast deep oceans, your own heartbeat, and billions of other heartbeats exist because Allah willed and said, “Be.” The same word that unfolded creation will unfold resurrection.
